The Beijing Sub-Central Station Integrated Transportation Hub (hereinafter referred to as the "Sub-Central Station Hub Project") is the first large-scale comprehensive transportation hub to be developed on a large scale directly above the underground railway station. A few days ago, the reporter followed the interview group of the 10th anniversary of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development of the "Petal Valve Concentric Heart Connection" online theme publicity activity jointly organized by the Cyberspace Administration of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei to the construction site for on-the-spot interviews.

The reporter learned that the project is to promote the national strategy of coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, the implementation of the "Beijing Urban Master Plan (2016-2035)" and the landmark project of relieving Beijing's non-capital functions, with an integrated implementation scope of about 61 hectares, an underground building scale of about 1.28 million square meters, and an above-ground planned building scale of about 1.39 million square meters, showing an overall pattern of "underground hub above-ground city, high integration of upper and lower levels".
As the transportation center of the sub-center of the city, the project will integrate 2 intercity railways, 4 urban rail transit, 1 backbone railway, 1 suburban railway and 15 bus connection lines, becoming an important fulcrum of "Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei on the track"; It will also form a "station-city integration" urban complex covering office, commercial, apartment, hotel and other formats built with the concept of TOD, build a characteristic business office group and a city-level dynamic business circle, and become a vitality center of the city's sub-center.
According to the plan, the sub-central station hub project will start on November 30, 2019, and the main project will be basically completed by the end of December 2024, and will be put into use in 2025 with the opening of the Jingtang intercity station, which will be the largest underground comprehensive transportation hub in Asia after completion.

In the future, passengers from Tangshan, Tianjin and other places will get off the high-speed rail directly after arriving at the hub, and those who work in the office building on the ground of the hub can even go to the office directly without leaving the hub, without the need for wind and sun, and the ground and underground are directly linked. Xu Wenwu told reporters that when designing the plan of "going out of the subway to the office building", the designers went to many cities at home and abroad and learned from many advanced concepts.
He also said that after the integrated transportation hub is put into use in the future, the daily one-way passenger flow is expected to reach 1 million, and the two-way passenger flow will reach 500,000. For how to carry such a large passenger flow, the project also considered in the design.
Passengers can take subways, buses, online car-hailing, private cars and other means of transportation, and the entire hub is designed to take into account the design of bus and long-distance bus stations, as well as the drop-off of online car-hailing and private cars, and also reserve sufficient above-ground and underground parking spaces. ”
The reporter learned that as of the end of December 2023, the earthwork of the main project of the sub-central station hub project has been completed to 90%, and the structure has been completed to 85%; The railway tunnel structure in the east throat of the core area of the railway station, the main structure of the station building in the west area, and the subway M101 line station, the hub transfer channel, the above-ground secondary development building and other areas have been capped, the hub fine decoration model section is presented, the steel structure of the "Jingfan" roof is steadily constructed, and the installation of the main engineering equipment has begun to be gradually rolled out in an all-round way.
