In the fierce competition at the 2024 World Aquatics Championships, the Chinese team has made historic achievements in Doha. In the men's and women's 4 100m freestyle relay final, the Chinese team won the gold medal with an outstanding performance of 3:21.18, which not only won them the highest honor, but also set a new Asian record set in the preliminaries.

The victory was particularly special because it broke the pattern of alternating victories between Australia and the United States since the event was established at the 2015 World Championships. This achievement for the Chinese team marks their first summit in this event, filling the gap of not winning a medal in the World Series before.

In this World Championships, this gold medal is the seventh gold medal of the Chinese team in swimming, of which the young Pan Zhanle contributed four golds and became the gold medal hero of the Chinese team. Despite his personal success, Poon humbly attributed his victory to the team's efforts and emphasised that his personal achievements still need to be improved. He mentioned that although some strong teams failed to send the strongest team, the Chinese team cannot be satisfied with the status quo and must remain humble and continue to work hard in order to achieve a greater breakthrough in the upcoming Olympic Games.

This achievement of the Chinese team is not only an affirmation of the athletes' hard training and unremitting efforts, but also a clear proof of the growing strength of Chinese swimming on the international stage, indicating that there may be more glorious moments in the world championships in the future.
