Among these Buddha names, Guanyin is ranked 49th. - But even so, Guanyin is the first among all bodhisattvas. The Tang monk and apprentice ranked 47th and 48th respectively. So, here's the question: how many places can Guanyin's real ranking be?

In the Westward Journey World, the West Heaven and Heavenly Court are actually two completely different worlds. We can see this from the fact that the power structures of the Heavenly Court and the Western Heaven are completely different. 1. The characteristics of the Heavenly Court The characteristics of the Heavenly Court are that the Jade Emperor is self-respecting, and the status of the Jade Emperor is actually a product of the balanced compromise of many forces. In the world of Journey to the West, the Jade Emperor is not simply a Taoist immortal, but also the boss of Buddhism, Taoism, and even the earth immortals, the asura realm, and even some other smaller princes. Therefore, the status of the Jade Emperor can actually be understood as the status of the Emperor of the Zhou Dynasty, while the forces of the Western Heaven and Taoism are similar to those vassal states under the command of the Emperor of Zhou.

That's why there is such a detail in "Journey to the West": that is, when Sun Wukong hit the heavenly court, the direct troops of the Jade Emperor did not intercept Sun Wukong. In this case, the Jade Emperor came to help the vassal states, and in the end, Sun Wukong was successfully suppressed by the two major princes invited by the Jade Emperor, Erlang God and Buddha. However, within the Heavenly Court, the Jade Emperor's position was very stable. Moreover, the will of the Jade Emperor is also full of authority and authority. Of course, this decency is only a façade. Because, the Jade Emperor's will is actually treated against the yang and the yin in his own troops. For example, the generals under the Jade Emperor often have the background characteristics of their own mountains, so these people do not do their best to do things for the Jade Emperor. A typical example is a god like Kui Timberwolf. When the 28 Lunar Star Monarchs besieged Sun Wukong together, they couldn't suppress Sun Wukong, and at that time, on the way to learn scriptures in the west, Sun Wukong needed to use all his strength to deal with a Kui wood wolf, and he couldn't capture the Kui wood wolf alive, if the twenty-eight Kui wood wolves besieged Sun Wukong together, it is conceivable that Sun Wukong could not have any advantage at all. This actually shows that the generals under the Jade Emperor are not willing to work hard for the Jade Emperor.

2. The power structure of the Western Heavens and the power structure of the Western Heavens is a different picture. Judging from the Buddha name at the end of "Journey to the West", before Sakyamuni, there were two Buddhas: one is the ancient Buddha who burns the lamp, and the other is the Medicine Buddha. There is such a saying about Journey to the West: that is, the position of the Buddha is not fixed, because the position of the Buddha is alternate. Before Shakyamuni served as the Buddha, the Ancient Buddha of Burning Lamp and the Medicine Buddha were the two Buddhas before Shakyamuni. The term of office of these two Buddhas expired, so it was Shakyamuni's turn to take office. So, from this point of view, the situation of the Buddha is similar to that of the United States**: they are replaced regularly. Moreover, in the Western Heavenly World, in fact, there has been a predetermined next Buddha: that is Maitreya Buddha.

The status of Guanyin In the world of Journey to the West, the status of Guanyin is relatively special. That is, if you look at the name, Guanyin is just a bodhisattva. However, in terms of actual status, many people with higher ranks than Guanyin have to respect Guanyin. For example, Zhen Yuanzi and the bodhisattvas in the underworld had to give face to Guanyin, and even important criminals like Xiaobailong were pardoned by the Jade Emperor because of Guanyin's intercession. We can see from this that Guanyin's status is very unusual. 1. The function of Guanyin can even be determined according to these circumstances of Guanyin: that is, the characteristic of Guanyin is that the official position is small, but the power is great. Of course, it can also be understood as a low-end position, but a high status.

This is actually related to the function of Guanyin. In the world of Journey to the West, Guanyin is the plenipotentiary representative of Rulai. Therefore, no matter where Guanyin goes, he is regarded as the minister of the Nyorai. Therefore, almost all people have to give Guanyin some face - after all, isn't that the saying: don't look at the face of the monk and look at the face of the Buddha. This situation, if applied to the modern workplace, can be understood as follows: if the secretary of the chairman or general manager of some large companies is concerned, the secretary of the chairman or general manager will certainly not be as high as the person in charge of each department. But in the workplace, it is not terrible to offend the heads of various departments, but only the secretary of the chairman cannot be offended. 2. The status of Guanyin In the Journey to the West world, there are actually very few people who can rank in front of Guanyin. Of course, the status of the Jade Emperor is higher than that of Guanyin. After all, the Jade Emperor can come to Heaven to help him suppress Sun Wukong. From this point of view, Rulai has to give face to the Jade Emperor, not to mention Rulai's clerk Guanyin. In addition, the status of the two Buddhas before him is obviously higher than that of Guanyin. Because, although the two Buddhas no longer hold the position of Buddhas, after all, they are patriarchs, and the words of the patriarchs still have weight. When Guanyin faced the elders, after all, the qualifications were insufficient, so he needed to give these two elders face.

And Rulai is his own boss, of course, Guanyin also has to give Rulai a certain face. It can even be said that if there is no support from Rulai, Guanyin's rights cannot be talked about. In addition, it is Maitreya Buddha. Because, Maitreya Buddha is the person who is ready to succeed Shakyamuni, and he belongs to Shakyamuni's ** person. In other words, he belongs to Guanyin's future boss, so, of course, his status is above Guanyin. Therefore, to sum up, we can understand that Guanyin ranks fifth.
