Ding Qiusheng refused to be the political commissar of the school, and Tan Zheng's repeated consultations were invalid, and he personally punished him
In 1937, in order to meet the needs of the war, the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army was reorganized and reorganized into the Eighth Route Army. At this time, Ding Qiusheng, who was studying at Kang University, received an order from the Military Commission to immediately go to the Military Commission Engineering School to serve as a political commissar.
But Ding Qiusheng did not hesitate to refuse this order: "I will never go to school. As a Chinese leader, it is incumbent upon me to join the front line and resolutely fight against the Japanese invaders! ”
Faced with this situation, Tan Zheng, director of the Political Department of the Eighth Route Army, found Ding Qiusheng: "The military order is like a mountain, you will have the opportunity to go to the front line, obey the order for the time being, and make plans afterwards." ”
However, Ding Qiusheng responded emotionally: "I will resolutely not obey orders!" I must go to the front line and never report to school! ”
Tan Zheng shook his head helplessly, expressing his disappointment with Ding Qiusheng's disobedience: "You have already disobeyed the order by doing this, and you will definitely be punished." ”
Ding Qiu responded resolutely: "Even if I have to be punished, I will never carry out such an order!" ”
When the news reached the ears of ***, he usually treats people gently, but at this moment he looks extremely serious: "The order has been given, disobedience is disobedience." The army must abide by discipline, cadres should be even more strict, and those who do not obey orders must be dealt with seriously! ”
The chairman personally made the decision, and Ding Qiusheng was not only not allowed to go to the front, but was severely punished.
So, who is Ding Qiusheng's hero? Why did *** resolutely punish him? What will happen to him if he is punished? Let's take a look.
Ding Qiusheng, under the call of **, joined the Red Army with consciousness. Starting as an ordinary miner, he experienced a 60-year military career, experienced the most difficult years of the Red Army with ***, and gradually grew into a wise and brave general.
Ding Qiu was born in 1913 to a farming family in Xiangxiang County, Hunan Province. His father left home shortly after he was born to work in other places, never to return. This put the family in financial difficulties, and the young Ding Qiusheng could only follow his mother to beg around. After a difficult life, the mother and son finally escaped to Anyuan.
Anyuan is famous for its coal mines. During that period, some people who knew the history of the party learned that ** and others had come to Anyuan to teach revolutionary ideas to the workers.
Ding Qiusheng became a child laborer in a coal mine at the age of 11, and his ideological consciousness was greatly improved under the education of the Chinese Communist Party.
In 1929, at the Ninth Party Congress, he proposed to form a new Red Army unit from among the masses of workers and peasants, and in August 1930, he personally came to Anyuan to mobilize the workers.
Commissar Mao has come to Anyuan! He is going to speak to us workers personally! Be sure to come in time! ”
After the news spread, thousands of miners had already gathered in the square, waiting for Comrade *** to speak.
Ding Qiusheng was deeply shocked when he first participated in the workers' rally. He was young, and in order to observe the *** comrades on the stage at close range, he did not hesitate to use both hands and feet to climb a huge willow tree on the side of the stage.
**Dressed in a plain cloth shirt, he communicated with the workers concisely and concisely, so that many people understood important truths.
The *** standing on the stage said straightly: "We workers are engaged in the hardest work, and the meals we eat are the hardest. It's not because we're suffering, it's because there are three mountains on the poor people. ”
Emancipation can only be achieved if the workers and peasants unite. We must take up the first place, overthrow these three mountains, and establish the workers' and peasants' Soviet power, so that the people can truly be the masters of the country! ”
At the end of the speech, ** raised the volume: "I am here to call on everyone, I hope that everyone will join the Red Army." Only by uniting can we usher in a better future! ”
Ding Qiusheng's eyes on the tree sparkled. Comrade ** answered his confusion for many years in concise language. From that moment on, he was determined to follow the party and embark on the road of revolution.
Ding Qiusheng couldn't wait to wait at the meeting place to leave. Silently bid farewell to his mother in his heart, left Anyuan, officially joined the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army, and embarked on the long road of revolution.
He showed bravery and courage in the Red Army and quickly rose to prominence in the ranks. It is worth mentioning that in 1935, he had an in-depth exchange with Comrade ***.
Your life is great, and so is the life of our Red Army. ”
In September 1935, Ding Qiusheng was transferred to the ** Communication Garrison Company as an instructor.
At the end of the Long March, our army won a complete victory in the Battle of Zhiluo Town, capturing the enemy division commander alive.
** Comrade has been in a very happy mood for several days.
Late one night, Comrade ** worked late and decided to go out for a walk after a short rest. Coincidentally, Ding Qiusheng was on a job inspection mission, and the two met by chance. ** Comrades noticed that the comrades of the garrison company had been working hard recently, and could not help but praise: "It is indeed not easy to march during the day and stand guard at night. ”
Ding Qiusheng listened to ***'s words, and his gratitude came spontaneously, but he couldn't help but say: "You work late at night every day, and you work harder than us!" ”
** smiled: "I'm used to it, and it's still you who work hard." ”
Ding Qiusheng was moved and proposed: "It's late at night, and you should rest as the chief." ”
**Look up at the night sky, but there is no sleepiness in your heart. He noticed the inflexible movement of Ding Qiusheng's left arm, and after pondering for a moment, he asked, "How did your left hand hurt?" ”
Ding Qiusheng was moved by ***'s concern, and said softly: "I was injured in the Battle of Guangchang in 1934. The battle was so intense that I had a bullet break ...... my left arm artery”
He paused and continued: "I was in a coma for 7 days and 7 nights due to excessive blood loss. At that time, 8 comrades-in-arms took turns to carry the stretcher and sent me to Ruijin ** Hospital, which saved my life......At that time, many comrades-in-arms volunteered to donate blood for me. Our collective warmth is truly touching. ”
The comrade fell silent after hearing this, and after a moment he slowly spoke: "We lost many good comrades in that battle. You have to live, for them, and for yourself, to witness more history. ”
Ding Qiusheng then recounted his experience when he joined the army, and Comrade ** listened attentively.
I still remember the first anti-encirclement battle, when we saw an airplane for the first time, and we didn't understand what it was, and we didn't feel scared. We ran after the plane, and suddenly it turned around and dropped two bombs on the ground! ”
Ding Qiusheng vividly described: "One of the bombs was in the crowd, causing the sacrifice of many comrades. Another bomb landed next to me, but miraculously it didn't**. It just lifted the soil and buried me, but fortunately, my comrades-in-arms around me rescued me in time. That's when I realized the power of airplanes. ”
After hearing this, he smiled: "Your fate is really fateful, and so is our Red Army." ”
He added: "We're going to face more enemies in the future, but we're going to grow stronger." Although our numbers have decreased after the Long March, those who remain are elite. We will rely on these elites to make the revolutionary cause even more brilliant. For example, if you go from the regimental political commissar to the current company instructor, maybe in the future you will command the division and regiment to fight. ”
Ding Qiusheng's heart was full of excitement, and when he accompanied the chief back to the room, he plucked up the courage to speak: "Chief, I hope to be able to serve in the combat unit in the future. Do you think I have such an opportunity? ”
**After listening to Ding Qiusheng's request, the comrade expressed his appreciation: "Don't worry, there will definitely be opportunities in the future." ”
Sure enough, not long after this conversation, Ding Qiusheng was transferred to the 218th Regiment of the 73rd Division of the Red 15th Army as the political commissar of the party. When he received this appointment, Ding Qiusheng was very excited, and he thought that he could finally go to the front line of resistance against Japan.
However, on the night when Ding Qiusheng had just arrived at the 218th Regiment, the Lugou Bridge Incident broke out.
With the outbreak of the war, Ding Qiusheng became a student of the 4th phase of Kang Da. However, after only two months at Kangda, he received a new order.
The issuance of this order made Ding Qiusheng go away. What happened?
The refusal to accept the new position led to the fact that the chairman personally ordered the sanction.
In 1937, Ding Qiusheng received an order to go to an engineering school to serve as a political commissar. We created this school with a simple intention, that is, to train the technical arms of the army, including automobiles, tanks, etc.
The outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression was like a thunderbolt, and a large number of technical cadres were urgently needed to fight on the front line. However, a historic school has been vacant for the post of commissar.
It was not until June 1936, when the Political Department of the rear of the Eighth Route Army was studying the issue of cadre allocation, that it decided to appoint a political commissar for this school.
At the meeting, someone recommended to the Political Department Ding Qiusheng, who had served as a political commissar in the training battalion of the 15th Red Army.
Ding Qiusheng performed well in the work of the training camp, and successfully cultivated a group of grassroots backbones during his tenure.
The comrade who recommended Ding Qiusheng said: "Running a teaching camp is also running a school, and his performance in the teaching camp can be seen, and he is also competent for the work of school management!" ”
The rear political department of the Eighth Route Army quickly confirmed Ding Qiusheng's decision to serve as the school's political commissar. However, at this time, China was in the extremely difficult defensive phase of the War of Resistance Against Japan.
As the Japanese war spread, the invasion had spread to Central China.
The brutality of the Japanese army aroused Ding Qiusheng's strong national hatred. He has repeatedly proposed to the leaders of the Anti-Japanese Congress: "I want to go to the forefront of the anti-Japanese resistance!" ”
However, before he finished his studies, he unexpectedly received an order to transfer to an engineering school.
This is very different from Ding Qiusheng's wishes. Under the repeated urging of the Political Department, Ding Qiusheng reluctantly came to this school.
Liu Ding, the principal of this engineering school, is the main founder of China's weapons industry, and he is known for his erudition.
He was very happy to learn that his new partner had served as a political commissar in the **Soviet District, and arranged a place for Ding Qiusheng in advance.
When Liu Ding was still busy introducing the school, Ding Qiusheng suddenly left in a hurry with his luggage.
Tan Zheng, director of the Political Department of our army's logistics unit, and Ding Qiusheng are fellow countrymen, and the relationship between the two has always been good. When he heard that Ding Qiusheng was hesitant about the new appointment, Tan Zheng found him as soon as possible.
In Ding Qiusheng's dormitory, Tan Zheng patiently explained to him the importance of the Military Commission's running a school, and persuaded him that there would be more opportunities to go to the front in the future.
However, surprisingly, Ding Qiusheng didn't want to listen at all. He didn't seem to care about the possible punishment, and thought to himself: "I have always been praised for participating in the revolution for so many years. Even if it was a mistake to ask me to go to the front, it was the first time I made a mistake. What's so terrible about being punished! ”
Tan Zheng felt a little helpless about Ding Qiusheng's stubbornness. It was precisely because of his stubbornness that Comrade ** had to personally order the punishment.
Ding Qiu was usually mild-mannered in his life, but he could not compromise on this issue. Looking back on this incident years later, he regretted it very much: "At that time, I was like a demon-possessed person, and I didn't listen to anyone's advice. Tan Zheng talked to me many times, but I ignored it and even resisted. Looking back now, I really regret ......”
However, in any case, the instructions of Comrade ** were unambiguous: "Orders cannot be left unfulfilled, and the army has its own discipline." We demand discipline not only from the soldiers, but also from the revolutionary cadres. Disobedience to orders is bound to be punished, and no one is exempt! ”
A few days later, Ding Qiusheng received a serious warning from the party.
At the same time, the logistics troops canceled his order to serve as the commissar of the school. This made Ding Qiusheng feel quite dissatisfied in his heart, and at the same time, he also realized more deeply the seriousness of military discipline.
In 1938, Ding Qiusheng suffered the first setback in his life before he was 25 years old. At that time, he was assigned to serve as an inspector in the political department of the Corps, a position that seemed to be leisurely, but in fact he needed to patrol the troops and schools every day.
During his inspection work, Ding Qiusheng witnessed with his own eyes the spirit of self-reliance and anti-Japanese struggle of the army and people in Shaanxi, Gansu and Ningbo to defend the border areas, which brought about a major change in his thinking.
The Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningbo Border Region, as an important stronghold of the Chinese Communists, played a key role in connecting anti-Japanese base areas across the country.
This area was also an important base for training and transporting anti-Japanese cadres, and made great contributions to the smooth development of China's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.
Ding Qiusheng gradually realized that the responsibilities he took on were not easy idle duties, but part of the careful arrangement of the organization. The purpose of this arrangement is to enable him to soberly understand his responsibilities in the struggle of the people in the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningbo Border Region, to receive continuous education, and to profoundly understand the importance of rear work.
Ding Qiusheng was deeply remorseful, and he reflected on his behavior over the years since he joined the party. He realized that personal swelling and complacency had led him to put his personal interests above the party organization, contrary to his original oath of "obedience to discipline."
This punishment made Ding Qiusheng completely sober up and underwent a qualitative change. In February 1939, he ended his work as an inspector and was transferred to the Political Organization Department of Kang Da. Subsequently, he was organized and arranged to study at Yan'an Marxist-Leninist College. It was not until August 1941 that Ding Qiusheng finally realized his wish to go to the front.
He led a team of nearly 100 people from Yan'an to the Shandong battlefield and actively participated in the war of resistance behind enemy lines.
Ding Qiusheng has gone through a revolutionary journey of more than half a century, and has only been punished once. However, even so, his trust in the organization has not been compromised. With the liberation of the country, in 1955, Ding Qiusheng was awarded the rank of lieutenant general.
However, it is a pity that the experienced general said goodbye to his beloved homeland forever in 1995. Although he is gone, I believe that his faith lives on and that his love for his country will live on forever in the world......
