Why do you eat dumplings in the north but not in the south

First of all, we must understand that dumplings, as a part of traditional Chinese culture, are closely related to the inheritance of the Chinese nation. As the main body of the Han nationality, the cultural origin and development of the Chinese people are mainly concentrated in the Yellow River Valley, that is, around the line from Shaanxi to Henan. With the evolution of history, the southern region was gradually influenced by Chinese culture, mainly due to the fact that during the many Civil Wars, immigrants from the north moved south, bringing Chinese culture to the south.

It is worth noting, however, that the influence of culture diminishes with distance from the cultural center. In areas far from the cultural centers of China, such as Liangguang and some other provinces, the eating habits and customs of the locals gradually merged with some local traditions, causing them to stop eating dumplings, and some even took pride in not eating dumplings and were prejudiced against the northerners who ate dumplings. This attitude is actually similar to the phenomenon of neighboring countries such as South Korea and Vietnam integrating their own traditional culture after being influenced by Chinese culture.

The problem now is that some southerners have forgotten that they were once "barbarians" who were educated by Chinese culture, and have begun to claim to be the inheritors of Chinese orthodox culture. Not only do they point fingers at the real Chinese orthodox culture, but some even claim to be the representative and origin of the orthodox culture. This attitude of ignorance and arrogance is truly ridiculous and pathetic.
