5G has been going through more than 4 years. Interestingly, 5G Advanced (also known as 5G-A and 5.) has recently been introduced in the industry5G) has become the new hotspot of 5G. News of new achievements and large-scale coverage of 5G-A construction is also coming from many places.
In the industry, 5G-A is seen as a further upgrade of 5G. And if you look at 5G as the standard version and basic version similar to mobile phones, this 5G-A should also be the "Pro" version of 5G.So what is the strength of this 5G "Pro" version? This seems to be something worth talking about.
Speaking of which, 5G-A is nothing new. Back in the middle of last year 55G, 5G Advanced, and 5G-A are already hot words that appear frequently in the communication circle. And this year, there have been more news about 5G-A base stations and scale coverage in many places.
For example, at the beginning of the new year, China Mobile Zhejiang announced that it had jointly completed the pilot test of 5G-A outdoor continuous networking and indoor 3cc (three-carrier aggregation) in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, together with China Mobile Research Institute and others. The measured average downlink rate of the existing network has exceeded 4Gbps, and a 5G-A 3cc continuous networking demonstration area has been built. This marks that China Mobile has officially opened the road of 5G-A large-scale commercial use in Zhejiang.
In mid-to-late January, China Mobile Shandong and Huawei completed the large-scale deployment of 500 three-carrier aggregation sites in Qingdao, marking that Shandong Mobile has become the first operator in China to achieve the deployment of 100 stations with three-carrier aggregation and continuous chips.
China Mobile Henan, China Mobile Research Institute, and Huawei have also deployed more than 40 5G-A smart base stations in Zhengzhou, covering high-speed rail stations, hospitals, schools, residential areas, scenic spots, and other application scenarios, achieving the world's first multi-scenario large-scale trial commercial deployment of 5G-A smart base stations. This marks that 5G-A intelligent technology has initially been applied on a large scale in Henan.
In addition, last year, Henan Mobile also joined hands with Yujin Energy to deploy the country's first commercial 5G-A private network in Jinling Coal Mine.
On January 25, China Unicom Beijing and Huawei completed a 5G-A large-scale networking demonstration. The actual drive test results show that the downlink peak rate of 5G-A users reaches 10 Gbps, and the continuous experience exceeds 5 Gbps, and successfully demonstrates the coordination of high and low bands and the flexible deployment of outdoor and indoor 5G-A devices. In terms of application, the practice of glasses-free 3D, ultra-high-definition shallow compression real-time production system, and XR separation rendering has been completed.
Recently, China Mobile Hubei and Huawei took the lead in completing the first batch of China's largest 5G-A smart board trial commercial deployment verification in Wuhan, realizing the innovative solution of 5G-A smart board deployment in 100 stations, and successfully verifying three scenarios: enhanced uplink live streaming experience, traffic stimulation, and extreme energy saving.
Judging from the construction, demonstration, and trial commercial use of 5G-A, the construction of 5G-A has entered an accelerated period, and it is not far from official commercial use.
In simple terms, 5G-A is an evolved and enhanced version of 5G networks. Compared with 5G, 5G-A further improves network throughput and achieves ultra-low latency in milliseconds. At the same time, it also has "superpowers" such as synaesthesia, passive IoT, and endogenous intelligence, which can meet the needs of more complex and diverse application scenarios.
If 5G is regarded as the "standard version" and "basic version" similar to mobile phones, then this 5G-A should also be the "Pro" version of 5G. Compared with the "standard version" of 5G, there are significant improvements in network speed, latency, and number of connections.
It has to be said that the development of communication technology is too fast now. As a result, there are times when there are too many differences between each generation. This necessitates a name for the new technology that is in the middle stage to show the difference. And this naming method is actually a common method in the communication industry.
For example, LTE technology, which emerged in the 3G era, was once called 39g。Later, it was after the advent of LTE-Advanced technology that 4G was named. When 4G develops to 5G, there is actually a large upgrade technology in the middle, which is called "4G+".Now 5G Advanced, 5G-A and 5In fact, 5G is still essentially 5G communication technology. But it's a technical phase of the transition between 5G and 6G. Naturally, there will be a new name.
Since 5G-A is an upgraded version of 5G that is in the transition between 5G and 6G, this "Pro" version will definitely need some more features.
Compared with 5G, the most direct manifestation is that it will have a higher level of speed and band support. In the simplest terms, 5G-A is 10 times stronger than 5G in terms of network speed, latency, connection scale, and energy consumption.
5G-A is a stage that not only continues the three major capabilities of 5G, but also expands new capabilities. It has the characteristics of 10 Gigabit downlink, Gigabit uplink, integrated synaesthesia, native intelligence, and 100 billion IoT.
For example, the communication and perception capabilities of the 5G-A synaesthesia integrated base station can provide effective means for the communication and supervision of low-altitude unmanned aerial vehicles, and help low-altitude express delivery, distribution, urban safety management and other businesses flourish. The large-scale continuous networking of 5G-A will open up new space for the low-altitude economy. Now, some applications such as VR AR applications, 8K HD, immersive experiences, metaverse and other applications that have appeared can bring users a better experience on 5G-A, which has faster network speeds and lower latency.
With 5G-A, interactive applications such as VR, AR, XR, holographic, and 3D** are expected to become popular, and will also bring a more immersive virtual world interactive experience. The metaverse is probably about to be realized this time.
It can be said that the arrival of 5G-A also means that 5G development has entered a new stage. Based on the further improvement of network capabilities and the emergence of new capabilities such as ultra-large uplink, 100 billion Internet of Things, and synaesthesia, it has brought more application space and scenarios to all walks of life. Whether it is in the consumer Internet, industrial Internet, Internet of vehicles and other TOB markets or in the field of TOC, there are more opportunities.
So, what would you expect from this upcoming "Pro" version of 5G? Welcome to leave a message to chat.
