Entering latitude and longitude symbols, such as degrees°, minutes, and seconds, on your computer can be done in a few different ways, depending on the operating system you use and the input environment. Here are some commonly used methods:
Use a character map
Open the Start menu and search for and open the Character Map app.
In the Character Map, find the degrees°, minutes, and seconds symbols, copy and paste them where you want them.
Keyboard shortcuts
For the degree ° symbol, it can be pressedalt
key, and then type on the keypad
The minute and second symbols may not have direct shortcuts and need to be entered using a Character Map or other method.
Use alt**(Keyboards with numeric keypads only):
Degree ° symbol: Hold downalt
key, and then enter
Note that minutes and seconds may need to be entered by other methods, such as a character map.
Use emoji and symbol finder
In the text input box, tap "Edit" > "Emojis & Symbols" on the edit bar (or use the shortcut keyscontrol + command + space
Type "degree" in the search bar to find the degree symbol, then double-click or drag to where you need to enter.
The minute and second symbols can also be found by searching for the corresponding words such as "prime" and "double prime".

Text replacement
You can set text substitution in System Preferences to automatically replace specific combinations of words or symbols with degrees, minutes, or seconds.
Character picker: You can search for "degrees, minutes, seconds, symbols" and use the web tool to copy these special characters.
Word processing software: In some word processing software (such as Microsoft Word), you can insert special symbols. In Word, click "Insert", >"Symbols" > "More Symbols", find the degrees, minutes and seconds symbols in the pop-up dialog box, select them and insert them.
Most of these methods also work well for entering other special characters and symbols. If you need to use these symbols frequently, it is recommended to use the text replacement feature or create shortcut keys to improve typing efficiency.
