Diwaniya in Kuwait is a traditional space that is mainly used for men's social gatherings. In the newly inaugurated Alosami Diwaniya, guests are greeted by an iconic main wooden door, a minimalist version of the traditional wooden door. Visitors then enter the reception hall and enter the smaller, everyday Diwania room, where people gather and socialize. Opposite the daily is the magnificent Divania Hall, which is usually used for weddings for men and women, funerals, and other family events.

The concept of the project is derived from the Arabian palm groves that once surrounded the site. Each column represents an abstract palm tree and together forms a repeating pattern, creating an interesting contemporary expression of the vernacular tradition. The façade uses modern technology and architecture to express the environment and culture. The concrete structure is covered with mocha cream-colored limestone, which was chosen for its durability and harmony in the harsh desert landscape.

Inside, the design tries to echo the exterior with the interior, creating a modern, sophisticated yet warm, vibrant feel. All the walls are covered with the same limestone and oak planks of similar patterns to shape the main Diwanian wall. Different bays and backlighting create a cosy and balanced atmosphere, while modern chandeliers become a highlight in the heart of the magnificent reception hall.
