At the same time, Taiwan media also reported that in the 10th round of consultations, the mainland side demanded that the Taiwan side handle the murder of the mainland fishermen in accordance with the "broad interest case".
The so-called "Guangxing case" refers to the 2013 Taidao fishing boat "Guangxing 28" when it was fishing southeast of Eluanbi, chased and shot by Philippine official boats, resulting in the death of the captain Hong Shicheng and the injury of many others.
The vile nature of this case aroused great concern from the mainland and Taiwan, and finally, under pressure from many parties, the then Philippine special envoy Peres held a press conference on Taiwan Island, personally read out the letter of apology written by Philippine Aquino III, and paid compensation to the families of the victims, and the eight Philippine coast guard personnel involved were also sentenced for intentional crimes.
The mainland's determination that this incident is of the same nature as the Guangxing case shows that the Taiwan authorities and the Philippines ** did the same thing at the beginning, so of course we must use the same method to seek justice for the two fishermen who were killed! The "Yilan" patrol ship, which the Taiwan authorities regard as the elite, has the port number CG-128 and will not be dispatched easily in normal times.
With a maximum displacement of 3,719 tons, the Yilan is the second-largest type of ship in tonnage among all patrol ships owned by the Taiwan authorities, and its sister ships of the same type also have a "Kaohsiung ship," all of which are equipped with two 20-millimeter machine guns, one 40-millimeter rapid-fire gun, and several T-75 machine guns, and are equipped with high-pressure water cannons with a range of 120 meters.
In normal times, Taiwan's so-called "Coast Guard" treats its large patrol vessels as treasures and will not easily carry out some relatively dangerous tasks, but this time they sailed directly to the central waters of the Taiwan Strait.
