OneOverview of TISI

TISI (Thai Industrial Standards Institute) is Thailand's national standards organization and certification body. There are two product certification schemes under TISI with different certification marks. They are voluntary certification marks and compulsory certification marks. The products of compulsory certification include electrical and electronic equipment, medical equipment, civil building materials, vehicles, agricultural products, mechanical products, food, etc. Other categories of products generally require voluntary certification. The TISI Conformity Mark covers product-specific safety, EMC and energy efficiency requirements.

National Standard SettingTISI establishes mandatory and voluntary Thai Industrial Standards (TISI) to suit the needs and growth of the country's industry, ** and economy. The standards are based on policies on consumer protection, industry promotion to be competitive in the world market, environmental protection and conservation of natural resources. Product certification according to TISITisi's product certification scheme consists of 2 types with different certification marks. They are voluntary certification marks and compulsory certification marks.

IIIScope of TISI certification

The products belong to 60 categories of compulsory certification, and 8 fields include electrical equipment and accessories, medical equipment, building materials, consumer goods, vehicles, PVC pipes, LPG gas containers and agricultural products such as incandescent lamps, low-voltage distribution line fuses, PVC insulated copper cables, fluorescent lamp ballasts, round wire concentric laying overhead electric strands, luminaires for fluorescent lamps, PVC insulated aluminum cables, tubular fluorescent lamps and lampholders for starters, irons, electrical switches, electric compressors, electric stoves, Open heating elements, AC fans, fluorescent lamps, electronic temperature controllers, etc.

FourthTISI certification process

Step 1: The local importer submits the TISI application; (You can apply online through TISI's e-license system, and ** apply for product testing and factory inspection requests in the system.) )

Step 2: The manufacturer's quality system is audited by a TISI authorized inspection body; (If the manufacturer's factory is registered with TISI, the importer only requires the manufacturer to produce a Certificate of Conformity (LOC)) and then the importer can submit it to TISI.) )

Step 3: The technical review is completed by TISI;

Step 4: The type test is carried out in a TISI authorized laboratory;

Step 5: Issuance of TISI certification.

FiveDocuments required for application

Throughout the application process, various requirements need to be met outside of the above process, first, the test report must be issued by a TISI accredited laboratory, and no shipment inspection is required, but a factory inspection is required. Second, the cargo class label must include the following: (1) TISI mark (Thai standard number); (2) the name of the product; (3) Model; (4) brand name; (5) the name of the manufacturer; (6) the name of the importer; (7) country of origin; (8) Specifications (if any).
