Recently, the cross-strait situation has fluctuated frequentlyThe 14 maliciously ramming of a mainland fishing boat was the tipping point, and representatives from both sides of the strait held 15 rounds of communication and consultation. However, in the end, at a special report meeting of the "Internal Affairs Committee" of the Taiwan legislature, the true attitude of the Taiwan authorities finally came to light.

It is reported that Gao Jin Sumei, a non-party member, led a special report on the fishing boat incident, and the first blue-green contest sparked heated discussions. The pan-blue camp emphasizes the "ship collision case", while the green camp uses the "ban case" as the name of the report, and the positions are obviously opposed.

Qiu Taisan, chairman of Taiwan's leading committee, put forward a "three-point proposition" when he expressed his position abroad: first, he called on the people of Taiwan to support the front-line coast guard law enforcement officers; Second, it is hoped that both sides will wait for the final outcome of the judicial investigation; Finally, the mainland is urged to strengthen the management of the so-called "three-nil vessels" to avoid the recurrence of similar incidents.

From Qiu Taisan's statement, it is not difficult to see that the Taiwan authorities have not changed their stance and still insist on blaming the mainland for the fault. The clear statement of this position means that the *** has a stubborn attitude and does not express any apologies, but tries to shift the responsibility to the mainland. Therefore, the incident is far from over.

As for the three issues, namely, finding out the truth, apologizing, and pursuing responsibility, the two sides have not yet reached any consensus. However, on the issue of compensation, the two sides of the strait have reached an agreement after several rounds of consultations.

It has been learned that Zhou Mei-wu, vice chairman of Taiwan's "Maritime Affairs Commission" and director of Taiwan's "Coast Guard," said when talking about the specific compensation standards: According to the previous practice of handling cases of accidental deaths of fishermen on the mainland, the scope of compensation is NT$3 million to NT$4 million, equivalent to NT$800,000 to 1 million.

It can be seen from Zhou Meiwu's remarks that the amount of compensation that the Taiwan authorities hope is between 800,000 and 1 million yuan, which is a big gap compared with the 1.7 million to 2 million yuan that was previously reported.

However, this assumption is obviously wishful thinking, and the mainland will never accept such a low amount of compensation. What is even worse is that when talking about compensation for the families of fishermen killed on the mainland, the Taiwan authorities have always claimed to provide "consolation money" and "condolence money" instead of real "compensation."

The former is humanitarian compensation, which indirectly means that the Taiwan authorities are not responsible, while compensation means that the Taiwan Strait Patrol Department is at fault and needs to be held responsible.

Therefore, the so-called consensus on the Kinmen communication is only the best orientation of the Taiwan authorities, and in essence no consensus has been reached.

In the face of the repeated statements of the Taiwan authorities and the Taiwan Strait Patrol Department, Chiang Wan-an, the mayor of Taipei from the Kuomintang, said, "Taiwan is a democratic and open society, and it is necessary to respect basic human rights and objective facts. ** The authorities must shoulder their responsibilities, communicate properly, and make it clear to the outside world that they should not blindly deceive and deliberately conceal the truth, which will only push the people of Taiwan to a dead end. ”

Jiang Wanan's statement hit the nail on the head, and the authorities' actions continue to intensify tensions, as if they are testing the mainland's bottom line toward Taiwan. In the end, it will be the Taiwanese people who will pay the bill.

In this regard, the Taiwan military also responded. Dong Chi-xing, deputy chief of staff for operations and planning of Taiwan's defense department, said: "Since the fishing boat incident, the Taiwan military has found that mainland ships have frequently approached and even entered Taiwan's 'forbidden and restricted waters.'" To this end, the Taiwan military has normalized law enforcement and strengthened monitoring through several batches of coast guard ships to maintain maritime security. ”

This move by the Taiwan military can be described as a wise move, implying that the Taiwan Strait Patrol Department will take the risk first, and the Taiwan military will not easily intervene to avoid further escalation of the situation. This also means that the Taiwan military has realized the mainland's attitude, but unfortunately, the Taiwan authorities are still in the dark.

In the face of the upcoming test, the mainland will certainly respond. In the end, what the Taiwan authorities are waiting to see can only be unbearable. This dangerous game is groping for the limit of ***, and it will be the Taiwanese people who will be hurt in the end.
