Wang Fuzhi, a native of Zizhou County, Shaanxi, has been poor since childhood, lost his mother at the age of 5, and lived in Yan'an with his father, relying on long-term work and cattle herding, which can be said to have suffered a lot, Wang Fuzhi's father values his son very much, even if his life is down, he still begs someone to send Wang Fuzhi to a private school to study, although he only studied for 3 months, but opened a door for Wang Fuzhi.
Yan'an, is a red holy land, often see the Red Army in northern Shaanxi, Wang Fuzhi saw that this army has strict military discipline, often help the poor people, so he came up with the idea of joining the Red Army, ran to sign up, although Wang Fuzhi was only 12 years old at the time, but because of his height of more than 1.6 meters, he successfully deceived the recruiters and became a Red Army soldier in the 78th Division of the 26th Army.
Soon, the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression broke out, and Wang Fuzhi followed the troops to Shaanxi, Shanxi, Hebei and other seven provinces, and successively participated in the battle of Pingxingguan, Zhangdian, Zhudian, and Shiyou.
3. In the battles of Caodian and Zhengtankou, by the end of the Anti-Japanese War, Wang Fuzhi had served as the battalion commander of the Northeast Democratic Alliance Army.
After the outbreak of the Liberation War, Wang Fuzhi followed the team to fight in the Northeast, North China, and Central and South China, and participated in the Siping Defense Battle, the Pingjin Campaign, the Hengbao Campaign, and the Guangxi Campaign.

After arriving at the Korean front, because of his outstanding achievements, in 2 years, Wang Fuzhi was promoted from the regiment commander to the commander of the 115th Division, and at the end of the summer of 1952, Wang Fuzhi's 115th Division was responsible for holding the position east of the Imjin River.
On August 2 of the same year, Wang Fuzhi and his staff officers were studying the battle situation in the cave, but a bombshell fell on the top of the mountain, directly blowing up the cave, and Wang Fuzhi, the staff officers, and a Xinhua News Agency reporter, a total of 7 people, were buried in the cave.
Hearing the news, the ** commander was in a hurry, ordered an all-out rescue, and said: ".We must do everything possible to rescue Wang Fuzhi and them, and in case of sacrifice, we must also dig up their bodies and transport them back to China.
But the rescue work did not go well, fortunately the commander in charge of the excavation was an experienced one, and warned everyone to pay close attention to the signs of life in the cave, suddenly, two flies flew out of the cave, and the commander was overjoyed: "People may still be alive." After more than 30 hours, the rescue team rescued Wang Fuzhi and other 3 survivors.
Trapped in Shandong for more than 30 hours, how did Wang Fuzhi and others spend it?
In the cave collapsed, Xinhua News Agency reporters and two comrades died on the spot, Wang Fuzhi was pushed to the end of the cave by the strong air flow generated by **, although he was pressed by the gravel and wood, but there was no major problem, out of Wang Fuzhi, there were 2 survivors, 3 people took 3 hours, to climb out of the pile of rubble.
But at this time, the cave was completely isolated from the outside world, and in order to attract the attention of external rescuers, the three of them knocked on the bucket, lunch box, and basin, but unfortunately, the people outside did not hear it.
To add to the trio's despair, the air inside the cave was getting thinner and thinner, and there was no food or water, so the trio concentrated their urine inside their helmets in case of emergency.
Finally, when the three of them were almost desperate, the sound of digging came from outside, and they persevered until they were rescued.
Afterwards, when Wang Fuzhi heard that it was because of two flies flying out of the cave, and the people outside thought that there were still living people inside, so they dug frantically, and after he was rescued, he was grateful to the two flies, and since then, Wang Fuzhi has not swatted flies for life.
But Wang Fuzhi also has a regret, that is, he did not remember the name of the company commander who saved him at that time.
After Wang Fuzhi returned from North Korea, in 1955, he was awarded the rank of colonel, and in 1964, he was promoted to colonel, and now Wang Fuzhi's old general, who is 98 years old, is the youngest of the only 10 remaining founding generals.
