Carbon inclusion is an innovative mechanism for green and low-carbon development, and an important way to reduce carbon emissions at the consumer end, aiming to encourage low-carbon behaviors of individuals and micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, advocate green consumption, and promote the formation of a green and low-carbon lifestyle. Carbon inclusion has gradually become a new driving force for the financial industry to support the transformation and development of the real economy through the model of "setting up the stage, enterprises singing, and participating in the whole people", and it is also an important way to improve the enthusiasm of market entities and the public to participate.
In recent years, CPIC Property & Casualty, a subsidiary of CPIC, has been actively promoting sustainable green insurance innovation. In June 2023, CPIC Property & Casualty took the lead in the industry to launch its first carbon inclusion platform, the "CPIC Carbon Inclusive" platform. The platform is the first carbon inclusive platform in the domestic insurance industry to measure and incentivize users' low-carbon emission reduction behaviors through user authorization, single purpose, relying on the development and construction of WeChat mini programs, and through cooperation with authoritative institutions, based on scientific methodological algorithms and data models, to quantify users' carbon emission reductions and carbon credits. Users can earn carbon credits by participating in various low-carbon scenarios on the platform, and use the obtained carbon credits to exchange for various low-carbon rewards, thereby motivating users to continue to practice low-carbon behaviors.
Eight types of low-carbon scenarios, do tasks to get points.
In the early stage of the platform's construction, CPIC Carbon Inclusion has built eight types of low-carbon scenarios around "people, vehicles, and life" and integrated insurance characteristics, including new energy vehicle driving, new energy vehicle replacement, walking, self-service insurance, self-service reporting, self-service investigation, electronic insurance policies, electronic invoices, etc. By participating in and completing the above-mentioned low-carbon scenarios, users can obtain corresponding carbon credits and redeem the required low-carbon rewards in the "Exchange Zone" of the "CPIC Carbon Inclusive" platform, so as to realize the one-stop entitlement service from point acquisition to reward exchange to rights and interests use.
The industry is the first to try and set a benchmark for the platform.
CPIC's "Carbon Inclusion" platform is expected to drive the insurance industry and other financial enterprises to join and build carbon inclusive platforms one after another, and promote the implementation of the carbon inclusive mechanism.
The platform realizes the quantitative record of the public's green behavior in digital form, helps the public to reduce emissions, and at the same time assists the public to understand the emission reduction situation of the public, and provides support for the carbon inclusive decision-making, which is also an important embodiment and demonstration practice of building an environmental governance system of "leading the body, taking the enterprise as the main body, and social organizations and the public participating together" on the enterprise side; Its unique new energy vehicle driving and new energy vehicle replacement scenarios can effectively guide users to purchase and use new energy vehicles. The use of new energy vehicles to replace traditional fuel vehicles can not only get the public rid of the dependence on petroleum, a non-renewable energy source, but also greatly reduce the emission pollution of vehicle manufacturing and use, which plays a very important role in the reduction of environmental pollutants and carbon emissions.
In addition, the CPIC Carbon Inclusion Platform uses mobile Internet, big data and other technologies to visualize and digitize individuals' low-carbon emission reduction contributions based on the Carbon Inclusion methodology, providing a platform for the public to participate in the "dual carbon" goalsThrough market-based incentives, guide and motivate the public to actively participate in low-carbon behaviors, convert green and low-carbon behaviors into green and low-carbon benefits, and obtain both environmental and economic benefits, so that the public can become participants and beneficiaries of "carbon neutrality", and give full play to their personal strength to help the country achieve the goal of "carbon neutrality".
At present, the platform has been launched in Shanghai, Zhejiang, Beijing, Jiangxi, Guangxi, Wuxi, Ningbo, Yunnan, Wenzhou, Gansu and other places. By the end of 2023, there will be more than 250,000 account opening users. Among them, 74% of new energy vehicle owners have been incentivized, and customers have been encouraged to complete green behaviors more than 30,000 times. In addition, CPIC Property & Casualty also provided carbon inclusive services for spectators and athletes at events and events such as the Shanghai International Carbon Expo, the International Import Expo, the CIFTIS, the Hangzhou Asian Games, and the Jiangxi Green Development Conference, with more than 50,000 participants.
