The UK requires cosmetics to register with SCPN to enter the UK market.
SCPN stands for Submitcosmetic Products Notification, that is, to submit cosmetics notice, which is a notification system created by the British cosmetics regulations to achieve cosmetics supervision. (Restoration EVELYN0216).
What products need to be made for SCPN?
Cosmetics refer to beauty products that are commonly used to cleanse or beautify a person. These include deodorants, shampoos and soaps, hair dyes, toothpaste, and cosmetics, among others.
The legal definition is any substance or mixture intended to come into contact with external parts of the human body (epidermis, hair system, nails, lips and external organs) or teeth and oral mucosa. Specifically or primarily consider cleaning them, fragrances them, changing their appearance, protecting them, keeping them in good condition, or correcting body odor.
The products usually are: liquid foundation, makeup remover, lipstick, antiperspirant, perfume, hair dye, nail polish, etc. (Note: Products intended for ingestion, inhalation, injection, or implantation into the human body are not considered cosmetic.) )
The SCPN also contains a separate module (Article 16) for cosmetics containing nanomaterials, which must be notified 6 months before they are placed on the EU market.
In other words, if a product contains nanotechnology or nanomaterials and needs to be exported to an EU member state, it must register SCPN 6 months in advance.
All cosmetic products in the UK must also be notified on the SCPN before they are placed on the market, providing detailed information about the product, including its composition and intended use.
