For a long time, many people have been prejudiced against Made in China, believing that it is just synonymous with cheap and poor quality. But in reality, this perception is absolutely wrong. Made in China is definitely synonymous with "good quality and low price"!
Recently, when I was reading related materials, I found an interesting story. In 2014, when the employees of the Ministry of Transportation of Wuhan Iron and Steel were repairing the East Trunk Line of Wuhan Iron and Steel, they accidentally found a guardrail marked with the words "Hanyang Iron and Steel Factory has built the Republic of China for six years".
The discovery of this guard rail aroused the workers' curiosity about the history of the railway. They searched along the railway line and found 11 more rails with different markings. These 11 rails, all manufactured by Hanyang Iron Works, spanned six to twenty years, witnessing the development of China's railway industry.
This story tells us that Made in China not only represents low prices and inferior quality, but also represents the long history and excellent quality of China's manufacturing industry. In the past few decades, China's manufacturing industry has grown from scratch, from small to large, and has become the world's largest manufacturing power.
Today, Made in China has gone global, providing high-quality goods and services to consumers around the world.
A section of about 9 meters long with the words "1902", "1908", "1911" engraved on the track, and the earliest date marked is 1896.
According to Gu Bijie, the consultant and former director of Wuhan Zhangzhidong and Hanyang Iron Works Museum, this should be the railroad track made by Hanyang Iron Works in the early days. Judging from the specifications of the tracks found, they are about nine meters long and 38 kilogram meters, which meets the standard specifications of 30 feet and 85 pound meters of rails manufactured by the Hanyang Iron Works at that time.
At that time, the production capacity of the Hanyang Iron Works was limited and could not meet the needs of the whole country, so some railways would use rails produced in Britain and Germany, while rails with foreign characters may have been imported in that year.
This old railway track is located on the East Trunk Line of Wuhan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., which is one of the important passages in and out of the Wuhan Iron and Steel Plant Area, and has been used as a guard rail in case the train takes refuge, and is still in normal use today.
Hanyang Iron Works was the earliest state-run iron and steel enterprise in modern China, and its scale was unrivaled in Asia at that time. Gu Bijie pointed out that as of 1949, Hanyang Iron Works was still the only enterprise in the country that could produce steel rails.
At present, Dazhou, Sichuan, Baoding, Hebei, Jigongshan, Henan and other places are still using the "Hanyang-made" high-quality steel rails from a hundred years ago, which is undoubtedly a strong proof of the quality of China's manufacturing!
Although "Made in China" is now facing some doubts, I firmly believe that in the near future, Made in China will definitely regain the reputation of "value for money" in the hearts of people around the world.
