On the surface, it seems to be quiet, but in fact it is secretly turbulent, which is the true portrayal of the international situation. Although our country has not experienced war for many years, the people live and work in peace and contentment and enjoy a happy life.
But behind this peace, a crisis has always lurked, and other countries are trying to infiltrate our country in every possible way. In recent years, news about "spies in such and such a country in our country" have appeared frequently.
Among these spies, there are both those of other countries and our own, and for the sake of their own interests, they have betrayed the motherland and sold important information about our country's economy and military affairs to countries or organizations that are hostile to our country, and their actions have made the people of our country angry.
Among them, Japan is the most active, and they have deployed a large number of spies in China. Why, then, did Japan send so many spies to China in peacetime? What are their real intentions?
When did you start sending spies to China?
Spies are a kind of personnel engaged in illegal espionage activities, they are usually sent to other countries or regions by espionage and intelligence agencies, and are responsible for stealing confidential information and plotting against the citizens of the target country.
In times of peace, spies usually cover themselves as businessmen, or experts or academics, in order to steal confidential information from other countries. At the same time, they will also find ways to turn against the citizens of the target country and expand their spy team to obtain more valuable information.
Japan was one of the first countries to send spies to China, dating back more than 100 years. Japan and China are geographically close and have had contacts since the Tang Dynasty.
Japan is an island nation of thousands of islands, located in Southeast Asia, surrounded by the sea. Although it has abundant fishery and forest resources, its special geographical location has led to an extreme lack of natural resources in the country.
Except for a few mineral resources such as coal and natural gas, other industrial raw materials rely on imports. Japan has a land area of just over 300,000 square kilometers, but its ambitions are huge.
Seeing that after Britain completed the first industrial revolution, it gradually mastered maritime supremacy, actively expanded externally, and colonies all over the world, becoming an "empire on which the sun never sets", which made Japan very envious.
So, they decided to carry out reforms. In the 60s of the 19th century, the "Meiji Restoration" began. Through the reforms, Japan established a new style, unified finances, industrialized the country, greatly increased productivity, and diplomatically abolished previous unequal treaties with other countries.
Since then, Japan has grown rapidly.
Faced with limited resources, Japan began to seek external expansion in order to obtain more resources. They plan to plunder the resources of other countries and even turn other countries into their own colonies.
China was the first target of Japan, and they sent spies to collect intelligence on China, and found that there were many weaknesses in China at that time, such as the corruption of the imperial court and the decline in the combat effectiveness of the army.
This information prompted Japan to speed up preparations and send more spies to China to spy on them. In the end, Japan defeated China in the Sino-Japanese War and reaped a lot of benefits.
This victory made Japan even more ambitious and began to invade other countries continuously.
In 1901, the Japanese founded the East Asian Tongwen Academy in Shanghai, ostensibly under the guise of "studying Chinese studies", but in fact it was a spy agency lurking in China.
During this period, they only recruited Japanese and trained many high-level spies, among which Yoshiko Kawashima and Kenji Dohihara were particularly famous. From 1901 to 1931, they collected a lot of top-secret intelligence and provided important intelligence support for Japan's war of aggression against China.
After the end of the Anti-Japanese War, the East Asia Tongwen Academy was forced to close, but the personnel in China did not disappear. They founded Aichi University and Toa Seoin in Japan, which are still part of the intelligence agencies of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In the 80s of the last century, under the pretext of exchange and education, they once again entered China to collect intelligence in various fields. Among them, Hiromasa Ao is one of the most famous Japanese spies.
He came to China as an economist and served as the chairman of the Japan-Taiwan Economist Association, where he spent 37 years in hiding, wrote a total of 150 reports on China, and devoted himself to the espionage war against China.
Hiromasa Ao's intelligence provided a lot of help to Japan**.
In 2005, Ken Higuchi came to China as a tourist to conduct espionage and intelligence activities. He spent more than 10 years in China and stole a lot of important information that he sent back to Japan.
However, in late May 2017, Higuchi Ken was detained by the Chinese side in accordance with the law. On September 18 of the same year, on this special day, the procuratorate of the Dalian Municipal Bureau arrested Higuchi Ken in accordance with the law.
In March of the following year, he was indicted on charges of espionage. Japan not only sent its own citizens to China to spy on them, but also used money to beautify Chinese citizens and let some Chinese who were not firm serve as their spies.
Some of these Chinese are ordinary people, some are scholars, some are university teachers, and they are distributed in all walks of life. On March 26, 2020, a reporter from Japan's NHK asked at a regular meeting why Yuan Keqin, a professor at Hokkaido University of Education, had been missing since returning to China in 2019 and whether he had been arrested.
Why does the journalist care so much about a Chinese citizen? It turned out that Yuan Keqin was ostensibly Chinese, but in fact he had already betrayed his country and became a Japanese spy in China.
He studied in Japan and received his Juris Doctor degree from Hitotsubashi University in Japan. However, for his personal gain, he became a traitor to Japan.
Geng Shuang said that Yuan Keqin was examined and dealt with by relevant departments in accordance with the law on suspicion of providing intelligence to Japanese spy agencies. His eldest son and some supporters held a press conference to call for his early release and expressed the hope that China and Japan would resume security exchanges.
However, in reality, there are a large number of spies in China, of which there is an equal proportion of Japanese and Chinese. According to Agence France-Presse, China has more than 110,000 foreign spies, with Japanese spies being the most numerous.
Sadly, more than half of these spies are Chinese, and they secretly serve other countries and sell their homeland, and their acts are heinous. Although in peacetime, Japan no longer needed to prepare for the invasion of China, it still sent a large number of spies to China to collect intelligence.
Japan's ambitions have never been extinguished, and its covetousness for its neighbors remains strong. Their neighbors include North Korea, South Korea and China. Historically, Japan has set its sights on the Korean Peninsula because it is rich in mineral resources, especially graphite and magnesite reserves, which are very beneficial for industrial development.
However, after the end of World War II, the Korean Peninsula was divided into North and South Korea, and the political positions of the two countries were different, and they could only keep their distance from allies like Japan.
As for China, Japan ** saw the opportunity for power infiltration, so it sent a large number of spies to China to plot against the Chinese. Japan's action is not only for its own ambitions, but also to curry favor with the United States and gain its support.
After the war, Japan colluded with the United States to suppress, sanction, and slander China in order to win the favor of the United States. However, no matter what the purpose of the Japanese sending spies to China, their plot will not succeed and will only fail in the end.
China is no longer the weak Qing **, and for those forces with bad intentions, China will take stern measures to protect its own interests. In times of peace, as Chinese citizens, we should be vigilant and prevent being used by certain forces to commit acts that harm national interests.
We must stick to our position and not be betrayed by money and beauty. It is the responsibility and obligation of each of us to protect and safeguard the interests of the country.
Let us work together to protect our country and our peaceful life.
