During the construction of your home, plastering can make the surface of the rough walls smooth. Plastering covers rough edges and uneven surfaces, which increases durability and reinforces walls. Plastering will also finish the walls of your house well, which will make your home look attractive.

Mixed plaster: Gypsum powder and water are mixed to make a smooth paste. Primer: Apply the first layer of plaster evenly and chisel the surface. Applying a topcoat: Apply a thinner, smoother layer of stucco to get the desired topcoat.

Gypsum and putty are both common materials in decoration, and they have some distinct differences, which are as follows:

Color and gloss: gypsum powder is grayish-white after construction, and the gloss is poor, while putty powder is snow-white after construction, and the gloss is higher.

Texture: Gypsum powder is coarser and grainy, while putty powder is more delicate and very smooth.

Performance: Gypsum powder hardens when exposed to water, while putty powder does not. This is also a major difference between the two in terms of use.

Construction difficulty: Gypsum powder is not easy to push away when scraping the wall, while putty powder is relatively easy to scrape.

Uses: Gypsum powder is mainly used for caulking, filling holes, straightening of yin and yang corners, etc., while putty powder is mainly used for priming, slow coagulation speed, soft texture, easy to polish with sandpaper, is a better primer material before brushing latex paint.

Gypsum and putty have obvious differences in color, texture, performance, construction difficulty and use. During the renovation process, the right materials should be selected according to the specific needs.
