Imports of 72 million tons, surpassing Japan, China sat on the first "throne"! Will it be difficult for the United States to decouple?
In the past, the United States has trumpeted the so-called'Risks'in order to withdraw from the Chinese market. Actually, this statement is not entirely true, they value it more'Fish and bear's paws'It is hoped that American companies will be able to make a big impact in the Chinese market when Chinese customers do not have access to advanced products.
However, this dilemma did not produce substantial results, but made it clear to American experts that it will not be easy to get out of US control.
As one statistic after another is released, it seems increasingly difficult for them to detach themselves from reality.
According to Shell's LNG Outlook 2024 report, China's LNG imports reached 72 million tonnes, an increase of 7.9 million tonnes compared to the same period last year. At the same time, China has overtaken Japan to become the largest importer of LNG. The United States is also the world's largest exporter of liquefied natural gas, exporting 86 million tonnes last year, surpassing Australia and Qatar.
The authors believe that it will be difficult for the United States to get rid of the influence of China, which has overtaken Japan as the world's largest importer of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
Many people may not realize that LNG imports are already high based on current data, and judging by the volume of US exports, we need to import a lot of LNG from the US. This is not good news, after all, we have experienced many ** outages. In addition, most of their earnings come from the Chinese market, which is not a good thing for them either. However, we cannot look at the problem from just one side.
After all, imports and exports are still directly related to the top markets of the two countries, and the increase in export figures also means that energy companies in both countries are more dependent on the Chinese market. Of course, this does not accurately reflect the strength of our imports. In addition, the current industrial sector is seeking more coal and natural gas to reduce carbon emissions, which means that our country's imports will increase significantly in the future.
As LNG production continues to grow, the global demand for LNG will dominate. In fact, this doesn't help much when demand is growing slowly. However, if demand expands to the point where other countries cannot surpass it, then the market is dominated by profits, whereas if other countries do not have such strong demand"Decoupling"It is impossible.
Shell believes that gas demand has peaked in many regions, but Asian countries, including China, will be the main driver of gas demand growth in the future. Chinese companies should export LNG to the Chinese market if they want further economic growth.
Moreover, on a deeper level, we are already at the forefront of the world, in"Green"A solid foundation was laid on the road.
So, in general, I don't think that an increase in imports is a bad thing, on the contrary, it helps to strengthen our influence in the international market.
