Nalan Pearl (1635-1708), grandson of Nala Jintaiji. Mingzhu's family belonged to the Manchurian Zhenghuang Banner, and moved to Beijing in the first year of Shunzhi (1644) at the age of nine. At first, he served as a guard, and after several promotions, he was a bachelor of Hongwen Academy in the fifth year of Kangxi (1666).
In September of the sixth year of Kangxi, Mingzhu served as the vice president of "Shizu Shilu". In June of the seventh year, the Huai River, the canal, and the Yellow River rose sharply. Mingzhu was ordered to inspect the water conservancy projects of the Yellow River and the Huai River, and suggested that the north bank of the Yellow River be excavated for storage and discharge, which was accepted by the imperial court. In September, he was promoted to the secretary of the Criminal Department for his meritorious service in governing the river.
Since then, the career of the pearl has been smooth.
In November of the tenth year of Kangxi, he was reappointed as the secretary of the military department. In the early years of Kangxi, after the pacification of southern Xinjiang, the Qing court left three generals of the Ming Dynasty to garrison them, namely Pingnan Wang Shang Kexi Town Guangdong, Pingxi King Wu Sangui Town Yunnan, Jingnan King Geng Jingzhong Town Fujian. More than ten years later, the Three Kings became more powerful and arrogant. In the twelfth year of Kangxi's reign, the rebellion of the three feudatories broke out, and Soltu realized for the first time that Mingzhu might become his political enemy.
At that time, Shang Kexi, the king of Pingnan, applied to return to his hometown due to old age, which triggered the dispute of "withdrawing the feudal domain". Most of the people, led by Suo Etu, believed that the three feudatories had made great contributions to the Qing Dynasty, and that they had great benefits to the Qing Dynasty by guarding southern Xinjiang, so the three feudatories could not be withdrawn.
But Kangxi didn't think so in his heart, although Kangxi was only 20 years old, he was already ambitious, and he didn't allow others to sleep soundly under the couch. In addition, the self-respect of the three feudatories will be a hidden danger for the imperial court sooner or later, so Kangxi hopes that someone can stand up and advocate the withdrawal of the feudal domain. It's just that Kangxi looked at it, and there were only three people in the Manchu Dynasty who supported the withdrawal of the feudal domain. There were originally only two people who advocated the removal of the feudal domain, namely Misihan and Morrow. But Mingzhu keenly understood Kangxi's thoughts and immediately echoed the above two**. At this time, Mingzhu, as the secretary of the military department, supported the withdrawal of the feudal domain, which made Kangxi deeply gratified. Subsequently, Kangxi insisted on withdrawing the feudal domain despite the opposition of Suo Etu and others. Wu Sangui was also very "cooperative" and took the initiative to agree to withdraw the feudal domain.
In fact, compared with Wu Sangui, Kangxi is young after all, if Kangxi is a fledgling tiger, then Wu Sangui is a fox who has gone through vicissitudes, Wu Sangui cooperated with the withdrawal of the feudal domain on the surface, and secretly was already preparing for a rebellion. At the end of that year, Wu Sangui killed Zhu Guozhi, the governor of Yunnan, and soon occupied the entire territory of Guizhou. In the spring of the second year, Kangxi learned that Wu Sangui had rebelled, and the imperial court could only deal with it in a hurry, and as a result, he suffered defeats. Some ministers even suggested that Kangxi move the capital outside the customs to avoid difficulties. At this time, Suo Etu was also uneasy. Suo Etu means that the reason why things have developed to this point is because Mingzhu and the other three suggested that the feudal domain be withdrawn, and now, in order to give an explanation to the people of the world, it is better to kill Mingzhu and the other three.
If Suo Etu encounters a weak emperor like Song Qinzong, in order to clear himself of responsibility, the emperor may find someone to carry the black cauldron. But Kangxi is not Song Qinzong, Kangxi reprimanded Suo Etu and said: It was my idea to withdraw the feudal domain, how can I blame others? The implication: Do you want to kill me as a thank you to the world? Suo Etu didn't dare to say anything, but Mingzhu, who was also in the court, had already smelled Suo Etu's murderous intent. Mingzhu knew that Suo Etu had torn his face with him, and the two of them were destined to be intolerable in their lives. Five years later, when the rebellion of the three feudatories was put down, Kangxi said triumphantly to everyone: At that time, someone suggested that I kill all the people who advocated the withdrawal of the feudal domains, but fortunately I didn't do so, otherwise, these people would not have been unjustly killed. Kangxi did not name names, but everyone knows that Kangxi is making fun of his father-in-law Suo Etu.
Since then, Mingzhu has been particularly favored by Kangxi, and he personally wrote banners for him to reward him for his diligence and assistance to the government, and to ask the right questions day and night. In the winter of the twenty-third year of Kangxi (1684), Kangxi went down to the south of the Yangtze River and took the pearl as his subordinate. This made him even more prominent and popular in the court. In the fourteenth year of Kangxi, Mingzhu was transferred to the secretary of the ministry, and arranged personnel for Kangxi in various places in the rebellion of the three feudatories, and made great efforts. Two years later, Suo Etu suggested that Kangxi kill Mingzhu, but Kangxi was promoted to Mingzhu as a scholar of Wuyingdian University, crowned as the crown prince and prince, and sat on an equal footing with Suo Etu. Suo Etu wanted to suppress Mingzhu, and Kangxi promoted Mingzhu more in order to balance Suo Etu, so the famous Suo Ming party struggle began.
During the Kangxi period, the Council of Ministers of the Council of Parliamentarians declined, the Military Aircraft Department was not established, and the cabinet scholars were equivalent to the prime minister. Suo Etu and Mingzhu are respectively called "Suo Xiang" and "Ming Xiang", Suo Etu has a rebellious personality, likes to exclude dissidents, once a newcomer appears in the DPRK, he always likes to take the lead in winning over the other party, forcing the other party to stand on his side, if the other party does not agree, Suo Etu will begin to suppress. And Mingzhu has a modest personality and is a smiling tiger, and when he sees whom Suo Etu is attacking, he takes the initiative to woo whomever he wants. In the past few years, although Mingzhu is a latecomer, the power is not lost to Suo Etu.
In the sixteenth year of Kangxi, the Yellow River flooded, Kangxi ordered Jin Fu and Yu Jackie Chan to control the water, Jin Fu is a master of water control, advocating the governance of the upstream, and the downstream is allowed to be swept away, Yu Jackie Chan believes that the people downstream are also very important, and the purpose of water control is not only to control the water, but also to reassure the people, so they quarreled. In fact, one of the two is from the perspective of "water" and the other is from the perspective of "people", and there is no absolute right or wrong. Mingzhu originally felt that Yu Chengchan was reasonable, but when she learned that Suo Etu and Li Guangdi intended to support Yu Chengchan, Mingzhu turned to Jin Fu, resulting in a water control plan that was unresolved for two years. Yushi Guo Xiu once commented on Mingzhu: Mingzhu usually treats people very tactfully, but behind the scenes, he is very ruthless. Suo Etu and Li Guangdi were good friends, while Mingzhu and Xu Qianxue were good friends, and the two sides were evenly matched. During the period when Mingzhu and Suo Etu controlled the government, the entire court was divided into two factions, which were distinct.
The two factions ** each other**, attack each other, and tilt each other. And Mingzhu and Suo Etu, the two big guys, hid behind them and didn't easily leave the handle, so the two continued to fight for more than ten years, not only colleagues who bowed their heads every day but didn't look up, but also enemies who stabbed knives in the back. In addition to the struggle for power, there is also a core focus of the battle for the crown prince. The Suo Etu family is the mother family of the crown prince Yinren, and it is also Yinren's biggest help. Therefore, most of the Suo Etu faction is *** and Mingzhu is the opposite, anyone who does not support the prince, he will be brought under his command, and anyone who supports the prince will be secretly suppressed. In addition to causing chaos in the DPRK situation, it is the common people who suffer in the end.
After the death of Zheng Chenggong's son Zheng Jing in 1681, Zheng Keshuang inherited the title of King of Yanping. Yao Qisheng, the governor of Fujian, went to Kangxi and suggested that the imperial court send troops to recover Taiwan. Mingzhu also suggested that Kangxi take the opportunity to recover Taiwan, and proposed that it must be commanded by one person. Kangxi accepted Mingzhu's suggestion and put Fujian Governor Shi Lang in charge of the affairs of attacking Taiwan. Two years later, Taiwan was reclaimed. After the recovery of Taiwan, Suo Etu and Li Guangdi and others suggested that Taiwan should be abandoned, while Mingzhu and Shi Lang and others believed that "every inch of land should be fought for". Kangxi adopted Mingzhu's suggestion and set up a Taiwan government. In 1682, Kangxi, accompanied by Mingzhu, traveled to the northeast and reached as far as the Wula region. Under the careful planning of Mingzhu and Kangxi, the Heilongjiang generals besieged Yaksa twice and won the Battle of Yaksa. Although Mingzhu did not directly participate in the war, his merits cannot be ignored.
After the Battle of Yaksa, Tsarist Russia sent a negotiating delegation to Beijing to negotiate with the Qing Dynasty. Kangxi sent Mingzhu to be fully responsible for the negotiations. In the face of Tsarist Russia's unreasonable troubles, Mingzhu righteously said that Tsarist Russia used guns and cannons for no reason, killed me with his bare hands, and repeatedly accepted my fugitives. In the end, Tsarist Russia had no choice but to withdraw its troops from Yaksa. Although Mingzhu did not directly participate in the signing of the Treaty of Nebuchu, he laid the groundwork for the negotiations, which can be said to be indispensable.
From the seventeenth year of Kangxi to the twenty-seventh year of Kangxi, this decade was the most powerful period of Mingzhu. However, with too much power, treacherous and selfish intentions gradually sprouted. Mingzhu began to use his power to crack down on dissidents, buy people's hearts, and form parties for personal gain. Mingzhu is insidious, but her face always looks charitable. When he talks to people, he always has a pleasant face and sweet words, which makes people can't help but confide in him. In addition, he was a philanthropist and modest, which attracted many newcomers and domestic supporters. Mingzhu is very good at figuring out the sacred heart, and anyone who is praised by Kangxi or ready to be reused, Mingzhu will show favor to them, saying that he highly recommends it from it; If Kangxi is dissatisfied with someone, Mingzhu will tell this person: "The emperor doesn't like you, but I will try my best to save it." This is how he used it to win the hearts of the people and consolidate his authority. Through these means, Mingzhu formed a huge force around him with him at its center. In the imperial court, both the Manchu and Han dynasties were his sworn friends. Under his invocation, his sworn friends Fu Lun, Yu Guozhu and others quickly rose to serve as governors and even ministers of the ministry. All the issues of the meeting were controlled by Foren and others, and Yu Guozhu secretly operated to implement Mingzhu's intentions. Kangxi let Mingzhu enter the cabinet, originally wanting him to contain Suo Etu, although this purpose was achieved, Mingzhu was even more than Suo Etu. Kangxi drove away the tiger, but another hungry wolf came. Mingzhu and his comrades not only control the government, but are also insatiable. It is said that Mingzhu's family "bribes and mountains", up to the Ministry, Taiwan Province, Qing Temple, down to the Governor Fufu Town Supervisor, the people who gave him gifts lined up in front of the door, and some people even waited for a few days.
In the twenty-seventh year of Kangxi, Mingzhu completely lost power. Of course, on the surface, he was ** by Guo Xiu, saying that he formed a party for personal gain, fiddled with various ministries, and bent the law for bribes, etc., so we won't go into detail here. In short, it's some notoriety, but if you want to say that you have wronged Mingzhu, there is no one, he did all of this. In the end, Kangxi issued an edict to the Ministry of Rites, deposing the Mingzhu University Scholar and handing it over to the Minister of the Interior of the Guard for use as appropriate. However, it was still awarded to the Minister of the Interior of Mingzhu, and later followed the emperor to personally conquer Galdan and supervise the military salaries of the Western Road. Later, he was always the Minister of the Interior, and he was no longer reused, and Kangxi died in the forty-seventh year.
