On the afternoon of March 3, the press conference of the Second Session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) was held in the press conference hall on the first floor of the Great Hall of the People.
Liu Jieyi, deputy secretary-general and spokesman of the Second Session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, attended the press conference to introduce the relevant situation of the conference to Chinese and foreign leaders and answer questions from reporters. In 1983, the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) established the first spokesperson system. So far, Liu Jieyi has been the 16th spokesperson of the conference.
The previous 15 press spokesmen were Sun Qimeng, Lu Ping, Sun Yiqing, Lu Zhichao, Li Luye, Qian Liren, Liang Jinquan, Tian Zengpei, Qi Huaiyuan, Zhang Guoxiang, Wu Jianmin, Zhao Qizheng, Lu Xinhua, Wang Guoqing, and Guo Weimin. 
Veterans take on new positions
According to the public resume, Liu Jieyi is a native of Beijing and was born in December 1957.
He has worked in the diplomatic system for a long time, and has served as Director of the Department of Arms Control, Director of the Department of International Affairs, Director of the Department of American and International Affairs, Assistant to the Minister, Deputy Director of the International Liaison Department of the Communist Party of China, and Vice President of the Red Cross Society of China.
In 2013, Liu Jieyi was appointed Permanent Representative and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to the United Nations. Soon after taking up his post at the United Nations, Liu Jieyi began to represent China in the presidency of the Security Council.
During that one-month mandate, the Council held 17 public meetings and 13 closed consultations. At the meeting, in addition to fluent English expression, Liu Jieyi's quick response, conciseness and to the point when answering questions left a deep impression on the top reporters in many countries.
In March 2018, Liu Jie served as the director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Communist Party of China and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, and stepped down in December 2022, and later served as the deputy director of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
In December 2023, the 12th Chairman Meeting of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) was held in Beijing. The meeting confirmed that Liu Jieyi would be the spokesman of the Second Session of the 14 th CPPCC National Committee.
On 2 March this year, the Fifth Session of the Standing Committee of the 14th CPPCC National Committee approved the list of secretary-general and deputy secretary-general of the Second Session of the 14 th CPPCC National Committee. The list shows that Liu Jie was appointed deputy secretary-general of the Second Session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. 
Presentation of the agenda of the meeting
On March 3, Liu Jieyi was entrusted by the secretariat of the conference to introduce the relevant agenda arrangements of the second session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
The Second Session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) will open at 3 p.m. on March 4 in the Great Hall of the People and conclude on the morning of March 10 for six days.
The main agenda of the conference is:
hearing and deliberating the work report of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and the report on the work of motions;
Attend the second session of the 14th National People's Congress as an observer, listen to and discuss the work report and other relevant reports;
The Political Resolution of the Second Session of the 14 th CPPCC National Committee, the Resolution on the Work Report of the Standing Committee, the Resolution on the Report on the Motions Work Since the First Session of the 14 th CPPCC National Committee, and the Report on the Examination of Motions at the Second Session of the 14 th CPPCC National Committee were deliberated and adopted.
During the conference, there will be an opening meeting, a closing meeting and two speeches at the conference, joint sector meetings and a number of member sector group meetings will be held at each station, and one sectoral consultation meeting will be held in some sectors. Liu Jieyi said that in the past few days, many committee members have come from all over the country to attend the meeting, and they all have a common feeling, that is, the Spring Festival holiday travel is hot, consumption is booming, and the New Year's flavor is strong. Liu Jieyi introduced that in 2023, all levels of ** funds will directly support employment and entrepreneurship of more than 300 billion yuan, and take targeted measures to support the employment of young people such as college graduates and the employment of urban and rural people in difficulty, and 12.44 million new urban jobs will be created throughout the year.
