Chapter 2: The Phantom of the Manor.
Alan Ryder drove through the bustling downtown area, along winding country lanes, towards the Rhett Manor, located on the edge of the city. As the night fell, the moonlight reflected on the ancient oak trees on both sides of the road, casting a dappled light and shadow, adding a bit of mystery and weirdness to the trip.
The manor stands quietly in the wilderness like a sleeping giant. Its exterior walls are made of gray stone blocks, and some of the walls have peeled off, revealing signs of erosion over time. The tall iron door was ajar, covered with rust and vines, and the ancient key came in handy at this point, and Eren held it tightly in his hand, with a mixture of anticipation and a hint of nervousness.
He pushed open the door and stepped into the manor, and a cold silence that had been sealed for a long time came to his face. The moonlight illuminated the wide courtyard, and his heart raced with broken fountains, deserted gardens, and the ghosts of history that seemed to leap out of the shadows at any moment.
Is this my family legacy? Alan muttered softly, his gaze scanning every inch of the land, trying to find clues to history in the ruins.
Walking into the main building, although the interior decoration is dilapidated, you can still get a glimpse of the former glory. The intricately carved fireplace, the dust-covered paintings, and the massive marble staircase all speak of the prosperity and decline of the past.
Alan stopped in the lobby and took a deep breath, determined to uncover the hidden secret. His eyes are resolute and sharp, and in the face of unknown fears and challenges, his heart is becoming more and more determined: "No matter how dangerous the lies ahead, I must find out the truth, for my own sake, and for the honor of my family." ”
