Recently, the Taiwan military has broken out a number of incidents of officers and soldiers committing suicides, and five of them have broken out in just 10 days. Chiu Kuo-cheng, responsible person of Taiwan's defense department, was asked about this matter today, and he was relieved that he had received another report this morning. According to Taiwan media reports, Taiwan's "Sun Yat-sen Institute of Science" (a military scientific research institution on the island) said that last night, an employee surnamed Zhang fell to the side of the road from his rented house for unknown reasons, and was declared dead this morning due to ineffective first aid.
When questioning Qiu Guozheng today, Xu Qiaoxin, a representative of the Kuomintang Democratic People's Congress, asked whether he had any knowledge of how many suicide cases had occurred in the past 10 days in the Taiwan military. It is reported that an employee surnamed Zhang of Taiwan's "Chinese Academy of Sciences" fell to the side of the road from his rented house for unknown reasons, and was declared dead this morning due to ineffective first aid.
Chiu Kuo-cheng frankly admitted that the number of suicides in the Taiwan military has indeed increased. However, he also hypocritically said that he would not say whether it had anything to do with the army, and that he would immediately weigh whether his body and mind, debts, feelings, and work pressure violated the regulations. If there is no disobedience, many people will perform the same work, but some people will not blame him for their pressure and resistance to pressure.
Taiwan's "Chinese Academy of Sciences" then said that at about 20:45 last night, an employee surnamed Zhang fell to the side of the road from his rented house for unknown reasons, and was found by the public to call the police and sent to the Taoyuan General Hospital of the Taiwan Army for first aid, but at 5:57 this morning he was declared dead because the first aid was ineffective.
This incident is the fifth incident of military death in Taiwan in 10 days.
On February 26, a 19-year-old student of the Air Force Aviation Technical College did not return after the holiday, and the school called a business trip in Kaohsiung where he was staying, only to be found lying on the ground by the hotel room staff, and the cause of death was ascertained by the prosecutor.
On the evening of March 1, it was revealed that a soldier surnamed Gu committed suicide while on duty, and some Taiwan media pointed out that his comrades-in-arms complained about the heavy business usually, and even did not sleep for 3 days and 3 nights before the incident. According to people familiar with the matter, the deceased soldier had to stand 4 to 5 sentry posts every day, but he could only rest for 2 hours in between, and he was suspected of being targeted because of the high BMI (body mass index) before the incident, and he did not sleep for almost 3 days and 3 nights before the incident.
On March 2, a corporal surnamed Zhao of the 602nd Brigade of the Taiwan Army Aviation did not return home after leaving home, and at 22 o'clock that day, his body was found dead in the woods by the side of the industrial road outside the barracks in the new community of Taichung City.
On 6 March, another incident occurred at the Taiwan Army's Ordnance Industry Development Center in which a non-commissioned officer surnamed Pan died outside the camp.
Strait Herald reporters Fang Yanyan and Sun Jing sorted out the report.
