In the anti-corruption masterpiece "In the Name of the People", the role of Qi Tongwei has aroused widespread social attention and discussion. Director Qi said: "It is not knowledge that changes my fate, but power", this sentence expresses the helplessness and confusion in the hearts of many people.
When a man reaches the age of thirty or forty, if he is still a small employee, he slowly begins to accept his fate. They recognized the society, recognized themselves, and began to go with the flow, ready to spend their lives in plain and plain life.
But sometimes we think, is it really that we are not capable enough to be qualified for even a small leadership position?
We are all human beings, and we are all at the bottom of society, so why do we have to suffer these humiliations?
When we recognize the society and ourselves, we know that it is difficult for us to move into leadership positions. But even if we don't want to be in a leadership position, sometimes we have to work towards it.
Why? Because as a leader, you have the right to speak, the right to make decisions, and even the right to appoint and dismiss personnel. If you don't be a leader, you can only be a man-made sword, and I am a fish.
The right to speak
I don't know if you have noticed that many leaders are very eloquent, they are very eloquent, they are reasonable, and the logic of analyzing the situation is rigorous and interlocking.
In fact, this is not how good the leaders themselves are eloquent and how strong their logical thinking ability is, but just because they are in a higher position than us.
They have a condescending feeling when they stand in the position of leader, and this feeling will invisibly give people a sense of confidence and superiority, and they will make people feel justified even if they talk about the truth that everyone knows.
Standing in the position of leader, the less work you do, the more you think, and the more truth you can tell. Moreover, leaders generally have more contact with leaders at the same level, and have contact with superior leaders, and under the training of superior leaders, there are more truths that can be said.
They have more opportunities to reason in their daily lives, and the truths they have memorized and summarized themselves can be said.
And our small employees are immersed in work, there is not so much time and opportunity to memorize, learn, and summarize the truth, when we need to be reasonable, we are naturally not as good as them, talk more.
But are these leaders meant to be? The answer is no, only because they got to that position.
We also found that we seldom refute some of the things and truths that the leaders told us, and sometimes we can't even find the words to refute them.
But it's not that we can't refute it, it's because they're leaders. We don't want to contradict them, we don't want to argue with them. If we can't find a refutation for a while, it's not that we can't refute it, but that we have to worry about the face of the leader, and what we subconsciously want to say is often very direct.
Decision-making power
Leaders can decide to adopt or reject our opinions, even if we are right.
But we are the ones who do the work in the end, and the wrong decisions will inevitably not bring satisfactory results, and we must be the ones who take the blame in the end.
That's why many times we disagree with our leaders and even refute them.
In many cases, it is not that our design plan is bad, our opinions are wrong, or that our ability is insufficient, but that the right to speak is not ours.
It can even be said that the final decision on the design plan and opinions has nothing to do with ability, but only with the position of the person.
We can only passively accept and agree, and even if we have different opinions, we can only keep them. Otherwise, when we encounter an arbitrary leader, we may be put in small shoes and even lose our job if we say a few more words.
This is the leadership, and they hold the final decision-making power under their authority.
The right to appoint and dismiss personnel
There is nothing to say about this, and leaders can influence and even decide on our personnel rights such as promotion, demotion, transfer, and dismissal.
At the same time, it will also affect the evaluation, recognition and trust of others (more of the same level or superiors of superior leaders), and in many cases, it also includes so-called financial rights such as salary increases, salary reductions, year-end bonuses, project bonuses, and performance.
Leaders have a lot of power, even if it's just a small leader who is one level higher than our small employees, or a quasi-leader.
Let's take what they say seriously, and just listen to it. For example, there are no leaders in my country, and everyone is a part-time worker; Being a leader is really hard, stressful, responsible, and angry, not as good as being an employee before, I really don't want to be this leader, etc.
China's thousands of years of history have all proved that power is the core of society, ancient and modern, Chinese and foreign, no exception, whether in institutions, units, enterprises, factories, workshops.
Power does not exist only in institutions, but in any institution and everywhere, from the League of Nations to the community and workshop.
Institutions of different natures have different rules of the game, some have strong institutional powers, and some have weak powers. But in any case, the power is there, it's just a difference between whether to use it, when to use it, and how to use it.
We may not have any intention of taking a leadership position, but we cannot hope to meet a good leader, and it is extremely unwise and irresponsible to rely on this game of luck to determine our work and even affect our lives.
We are all human beings, although we are at the bottom of the society, but we finally come to the world, we have to be responsible for ourselves, responsible for our own life, and also responsible for the family.
Maybe we didn't encounter opportunities when we were young, or we didn't grasp them, but if we have such opportunities now, we try to grasp them, even if we suffer more, suffer more work, and suffer more grievances.
But if you've weighed the pros and cons and decide not to move into a leadership role, be sure to think about what might happen now and when you get along with your leaders as an employee in the future.
Vested in its interests, content with its harm.
If you choose, you have to bear the pros and cons of your choice, and try to train yourself to accept it calmly from your heart, rather than tolerate it on the surface and be angry in your heart.
Director Qi's tragedy is not an isolated case. In our society, how many people can never reach the upper echelons of society because of the limitations of their origins and backgrounds?
They may have great talent and hard work, but these seem to be insignificant in the face of the barriers of power. Their lives, like Director Qi, may be suppressed by other people's orders and powers, and they don't even have the courage to raise different opinions.
The distortion of power has been continuous since ancient times. The pursuit of power is also never-ending.
We have to take the opportunity as much as possible, and if there is no opportunity, if we don't grasp it, we have to try to convince ourselves to accept it all.
In the world, namelessness is the norm, and fame is just the exception.
