ZTE has won more than one award in the GTI Awards 2024.
Barcelona, Spain, Feb. 27 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The winners of the 2024 GTI Awards were officially announced at MWC24 in Barcelona, with ZTE winning three awards. Among them, ZTE and Turkey Mobile jointly launched"5g-a enabled vr multiplayer match game "with"Smart Grid: Turkey's Mobile Energy Distribution Grid and 5G Convergence Project"Won the Innovative Mobile Service Application Award, and ZTE Dynamic Smart Grid (DIG) won the Innovative Mobile Service Application Award. ZTE"Dynamic Intelligent Metasurface D-RIS 20 "Won"Mobile Technology Innovation Breakthrough Award"。
Innovative Mobile Service Application Award - 5G-A enables multiplayer matchmaking in virtual reality.
In multiplayer VR battle games, the real-time display of high-quality game images requires a large amount of data interaction, and the traditional backpack-based local rendering scheme has problems such as poor mobility, no inclusion of the player's age, and serious heating for a long time, which greatly limits the application scale. At the same time, supporting more users to experience the game at the same time in a limited space and improving the ping ratio is also an important factor in increasing business revenue.
To address these issues, XR assurance solutions unique to 5G-A networks have emerged. In terms of architecture, the solution supports migration from local backpack rendering to state-of-the-art cloud server rendering, adopts an adaptive rendering architecture, flexibly selects the deployment location of the rendering server, effectively schedules computing resources, and maximizes the potential of hardware. On the network side, end-to-end performance assurance of XR services is achieved through intelligent scheduling strategies and slot-level optimization.
ZTE, together with China Mobile Research Institute, Beijing Mobile Customer Center, Qualcomm and the popular Qitian Group, jointly completed the verification of the 5G-A network multiplayer large-space VR competitive game business based on the XR exclusive guarantee scheme in the popular Qitian Shougang No. 1 blast furnace SOREAL Science Fiction Park project. The average air interface latency of this solution is less than 10 milliseconds, eliminating the need for backpacks and cables, and can support more than 50 XR users at the same time**, surfing the virtual world and expanding the market space.
Award for Innovative Mobile Service Application - Smart Grid: Project for the Integration of Energy Distribution Network with 5G by Mobile Turkey.
ZTE and Turkey's No. 1 wireless operator, Turkcell, have joined forces to launch an innovative smart grid system in Turkey, helping the energy industry achieve a major breakthrough. The differential protection service is an essential function of the smart grid system and is evaluated by the current difference at the terminal at the same time. The system requires time synchronization between terminals, and uses differential protection algorithms to sample and collect terminal operating data. As soon as a fault is identified, the terminal quickly shuts down the corresponding circuit breaker for precise fault location and isolation, thus reliably ensuring the stable operation of the distribution network.
The application is free from the limitations of large-scale deployment of traditional fiber. It provides a more flexible and cost-effective solution for the wide range of applications of smart grid systems, effectively reducing operating costs and downtime, and improving operational efficiency in the energy industry. 5G connectivity enables sustainable and rapid deployment of systems, enabling large-scale deployment of differential protection.
Mobile Technology Innovation Award - Dynamic Smart Supersurface D-RIS 20
With the large-scale commercial use of 5G, the world has begun to research and explore technologies for 5G-A evolution to the next stage of 5G. In the face of the vision of 5G-A higher communication rates, extending to high frequency bands has become an important technology direction. However, although high-frequency bands have large bandwidth and high speeds, they also face problems such as easy masking and poor coverage, which have become one of the main challenges for operators in future network evolution.
Intelligent metasurface (RIS) technology is a revolutionary leap forward on the basis of traditional wireless communication technology. d-ris is the industry's first intelligent metasurface to support dynamic collaboration with base stations, the award-winning d-ris 20 is its second generation and features high gain, low power consumption, and ease of deployment. By combining D-RIS 20 Deploy a 5G-A base station that increases the reach of a 5G-A base station by up to 30% with a signal gain of up to 30dB and power consumption as low as 30 watts.
In the context of the current rapid development of 5G networks, D-RIS 20 has a particularly broad application prospect, which can effectively solve the problem of high-band signal coverage in complex environments, improve user experience, reduce base station construction costs and energy consumption, and open up a new path for the sustainable evolution of wireless networks to 5G-A and 6G.
The GTI Awards recognize industry partners and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the development of 5G, and ZTE's strength in the 5G field has been fully demonstrated through multiple awards. In the future, ZTE will continue to insist"A road builder for the digital economy"to make greater contributions to exploring new industry trends and promoting the innovative application of the 5G industry.
