Chinese mobile gaming PC maker GPD has announced the 2024 update version of its Win Mini, featuring AMD Ryzen 8000 series APUs. The latest Win Mini 2024 can be equipped with a Ryzen 7 8840U or Ryzen 5 8640U processor with up to 8 ZEN 4 cores, meaning that gaming and other tasks will be faster and stronger. The addition of AMD xDNA AI technology can help improve computing performance.

One of the main improvements to the updated Win Mini is the display, which features a 7-inch LTPS display with 1080p resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, FreeSync Premium and VRR variable refresh rate, and a touchscreen protected by Gorilla Glass 6. Another selling point is the improved performance of the PlayStation 3's game simulation, which is expected to reach 60 fps thanks to support for X-512 commands.

Unfortunately, the GPD Win Mini 2024 has eliminated the OcuLink interface used to connect to external GPUs in the previous generation, and users who need this need to use USB4 connection instead. As always, the Win Mini 2024 will be launched via crowdfunding platform Indiegogo and will cost $879 for a base version with a Ryzen 7 8840U processor, 32 GB of RAM, and 512 GB of storage, compared to $999 for the 2TB SSD storage variant. As for the price of the Ryzen 5 8640U processor, it has not yet been disclosed.
