Many people think that the earliest surviving version of "Treatise on Typhoid Fever" is the version of "Treatise on Typhoid Fever" compiled by Wang Bing of the Jin Dynasty.
Not really. Because, the version of "Treatise on Typhoid Fever" compiled by Wang Bing has also been lost.
What people read now thinks is the version of "Treatise on Typhoid Fever" compiled by Wang Bing, but it is actually the version of "Treatise on Typhoid Fever" compiled by the people of the Song Dynasty. In fact, it is not the original appearance of Wang Bing's version of "Treatise on Typhoid Fever". Lin Yi, Gao Baoheng, Sun Qi and others of the Song Dynasty Correction Medical Book Bureau revised the "Treatise on Typhoid Fever" and published it in the second year of Zhiping in the Great Song Dynasty (1065 AD). Since then, there has been a definitive version of the "Treatise on Typhoid Fever", which is the Song version of the "Treatise on Typhoid Fever", also known as the "Treatise on Typhoid Fever" in the Zhiping version. The first engraved large-character book is well-bound, but the price is too high to be popularized. Later, Gao Baoheng and others suggested that they engrave small characters. But it is a pity that the original engraving of the Song book, whether it is a large or small character book, is now gone.
That is to say, Song's "Treatise on Typhoid Fever" has also been lost.
The surviving Song version of "Treatise on Typhoid Fever" is an engraved copy of Zhao Kaimei in the Ming Dynasty. Zhao Kaimei in the Ming Dynasty was originally a wealthy businessman and studied medicine. In the twenty-seventh year of Wanli (1599 AD), Zhao Kaimei funded the engraving of "Zhongjing Quanshu", the first part of the book, that is, "Copying the Song Version of the Treatise on Typhoid Fever", this version is based on the small-character version of the Song version of the Treatise on Typhoid Fever, according to the examination of the font glyphs are similar to the original version, so it should be very close to the true face of the Song version of the "Treatise on Typhoid Fever". This book is now known as "Zhao Keben's "Treatise on Typhoid Fever" or "Zhong Jingquan's Book "Treatise on Typhoid Fever", and the textbook of domestic colleges and universities is based on this edition of "Treatise on Typhoid Fever". There are still five originals of this book, one of which is stored in the Beijing Library, one is stored in the library of the China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Mr. Fan Xingzhun has a "Zhongjing Quanshu" in his family, which was later donated by Mr. Fan to the library of the Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and these three are the same edition. In addition, two parts, one in Shenyang and the other in the south, are privately owned.
However, the "Treatise on Typhoid Fever" compiled by Sun Simiao, the medicine king of the Tang Dynasty, that is, the "Treatise on Typhoid Fever" in Qianjinfang, or the "Treatise on Typhoid Fever" in the Tang Dynasty, is the earliest version of the Treatise on Typhoid Fever in existence.
Professor Liu Lihong said: Sun Simiao collected the articles of "Treatise on Typhoid Fever" in his later years, and he collected 392 articles and 109 prescriptions. At the same time, Zhongjing Typhoid Formula is widely used in various clinical departments in "Qianjin Fang", and it can be said that nearly one-third of the more than 6,000 first prescriptions in "Qianjin Fang" have the shadow of Zhongjing Typhoid Prescription or are added or subtracted based on Typhoid Formula. Sun Simiao was able to collect all typhoid prescriptions, which were basically purchased with money from doctors all over the country. The article of "Treatise on Typhoid Fever" in Sun Simiao's "Qianjin Yifang" is called "Tang Ben Typhoid Fever", which is the earliest version of the existing "Treatise on Typhoid Fever".
Sun Simiao said: "The secrets of the Jiangnan masters should not be passed on. It can be seen that the "Treatise on Typhoid Fever" was indeed circulated among the people at that time, and it was owned by the "masters", rather than a few people, but everyone regarded it as a secret collection and did not show it lightly. Sun Simiao should have searched in many ways to gather it to a very complete set.
Of course, other versions, such as the Guilin Guben Treatise on Typhoid Fever and Miscellaneous Diseases, may also be ...... of the older extant versions
Here, it is recommended that you might as well study Sun Simiao's daughter "Treatise on Typhoid Fever", which will definitely be fruitful!
