In fact, lithography machines are not so easy to make, there was an article on the Internet that ASML engineers told Chinese engineers that even if they had a design drawing for the lithography machine, they couldn't make it.
This may sound outrageous, but it may be the case, even if we get the blueprints for the EUV lithography machine, we may not be able to produce it.
First of all, extreme ultraviolet lithography technology is extremely cumbersome, with more than 5,000 manufacturers around the world, totaling 450,000 sets of parts.
These 450,000 parts can actually be decomposed, according to the smallest immovable parts, that is, more than 3 million. And most of the key components are impossible to imitate, and only one company in the world can produce them.
Besides, they have patents with ASML, how can we copy Zeiss lens equipment? 5000 ** chains, more than 300 parts, we produce them ourselves, is there any problem? That's why, even if they have drawings, they can't do it.
Secondly, the EUV lithography machine is also difficult, it takes a lot of time and effort to install and debug, and the largest EUV lithography machine on the market now weighs 1.5 million pounds, which is equivalent to 150,000 kilograms.
Instead of a complete machine, ASML sent it into several parts, each of which was loaded into 250 containers.
After the delivery to the designated location, ASML will arrange 250 assembly engineers to come over and complete the installation and commissioning of the equipment within 180 days, which is very high in technology and experience.
In fact, even if ASML did hand them over the blueprints, they wouldn't be able to make the right part in a short period of time. Moreover, there are a lot of technical issues involved.
Therefore, the development of EUV lithography machine is not simple, we must not ruin our reputation, we must be confident, but we must also know that this is not a simple matter, we must have full awareness and be psychologically prepared for battle.
