Autobiographical quotes:
What year did I first meet Oscar Wald? I remember he seemed to think I was alone in London because he told me to go to his house for Christmas dinner. His beautiful wife and lovely children, as well as the beautiful room designed by Godwin, made me happy.
He had a white dining room—the first time I've seen a room like this—with white chairs, white wall cushions, and a red red table** with a terracotta sculpture in the center of the table and a red chandelier above it.
I have never, and never will ever meet again, a conversation better than Wilde's.
There were often polemical evenings, and I began to look at everything in an argumentative way and was apprehensive about my poetic talents.
I was stuck in a difficult situation because I couldn't make any money. I was supposed to go to art school, but when I thought about those art schools in Dublin, things were postponed. I want to do something and get money right away. Because of the poverty of my family, I saw my father sitting gloomily by the fire, but I had no ability to earn money.
I always felt useless, perhaps even extremely unreliable, and when I agreed with certain people, I could not hold my opinion among them—and if they had their opinion on them, I always accused myself of being unfaithful to a friend who was not in sight, and I seemed to have an uncanny cowardice.
For a few years, he was my closest friend, and what attracted me was a certain elegance in his spirit. This elegance seems to coincide with his small physique, and his appearance is mediocre, but it reveals the personality of Greek sculpture.
Poetry Appreciation:
When you're old
—Yeats
When you are old, your head is white, your thoughts are drowsy, and you are snoozing by the fire, please take down this poem, read it slowly, and recall the softness of your eyes in the past, and the heavy shadows of their past;
How many people love the joyful hours of your youth, your beauty, whether false or sincere, and only one who loves your pilgrim's soul, and the painful wrinkles of your aged face;
Hanging its head, beside the red-glowing stove, it whispered sadly about the passing of love, and on the hill above it paced slowly, hiding its face in the midst of a group of stars.

Wild swans at Cole Manor
—Yeats
Autumn beauty in the woods, the path in the forest is dry, and the silent sky is reflected in the flowing water of October dusk;
Fifty-nine swans floated across the stones.
Since I first counted them, which is the nineteenth autumn, I have found that the counting is not over, and it has never ended, and it has soared into the sky, flapping its wings loudly and circling in large, broken circles.
I had seen this flock of glorious swans, but now it was so sad for me, it was all changed, since the first time I was by the pool, it was also dusk, I heard the sound of wings flapping above my head, and my steps were still light.
Not tired of a couple, a friendly couple marching in cold water, or soaring to the sky, their hearts are still young, and no matter where they float, there is always passion and ambition.
They float on the silent waters, how mysterious and beautiful!
One day they woke up, and they had flown away, and in which reeds did they live?
Which poolside, which lakeside, pleases people's eyes?
Famous poet.
