On June 9, 1973, the Prime Minister made a special trip to visit Baota Mountain during his visit to Yan'an. In Baotashan, he recalled to the comrades of the prefectural party committee who accompanied him the dangerous experience that happened in Tashan, Yan'an in 1937, and mentioned his security officer, Comrade Chen Youcai, who was also a "stand-in."
After Comrade Chen Youcai died, the enemy stabbed his body more than 20 times. So, who is so mad that he not only tried to assassinate *** but also committed such a cruel act against the fake "**"?
The Xi'an Incident was a military incident launched on December 12, 1936 by two generals, Zhang Xueliang and Yang Hucheng, who detained Chiang Kai-shek in Xi'an and forced him to stop the civil war and fight against Japan together.
At this critical moment, our party sent Bogu and others to Xi'an to actively participate in the handling of the Xi'an incident. Although Chiang Kai-shek has always had a deep hatred for our party, since the counter-revolutionary coup d'état of "April 12", he has always been an enemy of our party and the Red Army, and has killed a large number of mid-level soldiers and commanders of the Red Army.
However, in the face of such a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, our party still insisted on attaching importance to the overall situation and displayed a fearless revolutionary spirit and a noble humanitarian spirit. This incident has made our party realize more clearly that only by uniting can we resist the invasion of foreign enemies and protect the future of the country and the nation.
At the same time, this also shows that our party has always stood on the stand of the people, put the interests of the masses of the people first, and adhered to the principles of peace, consultation, and unity. In short, the Xi'an Incident was an event of great historical significance in China's modern history, in which our party displayed a high degree of wisdom and a fearless spirit, and laid a solid foundation for China's revolutionary cause.
After the delegation of Zhang Xueliang and Yang Hucheng arrived in Xi'an, they put forward a proposal for a peaceful settlement of the "Xi'an Incident", hoping that they would be able to release Chiang Kai-shek. This was because Chiang Kai-shek, although nominally the head of state, killing him directly could plunge China into chaos and give the Japanese invaders an opportunity to take advantage of.
Zhang Xueliang did not dare to attack Chiang Kai-shek lightly, and at the same time, all parties were calling for a peaceful settlement. Therefore, they decided to release Chiang Kai-shek and peacefully resolved the Xi'an Incident.
This incident caused Chiang Kai-shek to temporarily abandon his ten-year policy of "settling the outside world before securing the interior" and began to cooperate with the Chinese Communist Party to resist the Japanese invaders.
To this end, **, as the plenipotentiary representative of the Chinese Communist Party, he went to Hangzhou in March 1937 to negotiate with Chiang Kai-shek on the second KMT-CCP cooperation.
During the Xi'an Incident, Vice Chairman Zhou successfully promoted the negotiation process with his personal charm, and the Red Army troops were about to be reorganized into the "National Revolutionary Army". However, some Kuomintang diehards were dissatisfied with the realization of the KMT-CCP cooperation, and they planned some insidious schemes to try to sabotage the KMT-CCP cooperation and the process of the national war of resistance, including the assassination of negotiators***
After returning to Yan'an on April 4, 1937 to report on the negotiations, it was decided that he should lead a delegation to Nanjing to discuss the reorganization of the Red Army with Zhang Chong, the Kuomintang negotiator.
It was originally planned to set off on April 24 in three trucks, escorted by a guard team sent by the ** Security Bureau. However, due to the fact that Vice Chairman Zhou needed to discuss important matters with *** on the 24th, it was decided to postpone the departure date to the 25th, which made the original plan adjusted.
** Led some members of the delegation to set off in two trucks, while Vice Chairman Zhou, Zhang Yunyi, deputy chief of staff of the Red Army, and others were escorted to Nanjing by soldiers of a guard squad the next day.
The matter was originally confidential, but unfortunately it was stolen by Feng Changdou, a Kuomintang spy hidden in the office of the Yan'an Elders' Association. Feng Changdou was well aware of the importance of this matter, and immediately found the political bandits who were instructed by the Kuomintang diehards and told them the secrets he knew.
These political bandits have specially committed evil in our Soviet area, sabotaged the organization of our party's underground political power, and plotted to murder our party cadres. When they heard that *** only took more than 30 people out, they felt that this was a rare opportunity, so they decided to ambush near Laoshan and wait for *** to arrive.
At 9 o'clock in the morning of April 25, more than 30 people, including Vice Chairman Zhou, boarded a truck and set off from Yan'an South Gate Station and embarked on the road to Nanjing. Responsible for the security of Vice Chairman Zhou is Chen Youcai, chief of staff of the Yan'an Garrison Command and adjutant of Vice Chairman Zhou's entourage.
Chen Youcai is a native of Chenxian County, Hunan Province, and was the commander of the headquarters communications company during the Long March. After the Red Army met in Maogong, Chen Youcai was dissatisfied with Zhang Guotao's arrogance and was accidentally denounced.
He used to serve as a guard for *** and Vice Chairman Zhou, and had a close relationship with them. When *** was seriously ill and lying on a stretcher, he immediately ordered Chen Youcai to be transferred to the rest team to work, and asked him to follow closely to prevent Zhang Guotao's retaliation.
Chen Youcai deeply felt Vice Chairman Zhou's life-saving grace, and often said: "If it weren't for Vice Chairman Zhou, I'm afraid I would have been killed by Zhang Guotao a long time ago." "He decided to go all out to keep Vice Chairman Zhou safe.
On this trip to Nanjing, Chen Youcai was carefully dressed, wearing a suit, tie, top hat on his head, riding boots under his feet, and vice chairman Zhou's business card in his pocket, so that he could appear for Vice Chairman Zhou at a critical moment.
At 12 noon on April 25, 1937, Vice Chairman Zhou and his entourage entered the Huyan Mountain, which was more than 50 miles away from Yan'an, through Laoshan Avenue. The mountain is located at the northern foot of Lao Mountain, the mountain is high and dense, the wolf and tiger are vertical and horizontal, and there are few people.
As a result, the guards on the truck were on alert for fear of being attacked. However, what they feared most happened. When the truck had just turned around the canyon and entered a flat area, he suddenly heard a soft sound of "pop", and Chen Youcai immediately asked vigilantly: "Who?" ”
Liu Jiuzhou, the guard next to him, guessed: "It sounds like the sound of a whip, maybe the fellow is herding sheep, right?" However, another guard said, "How can anyone herd sheep in this place?" ”
As soon as the words fell, there was a "crackling" sound outside, and some soldiers were shot and killed on the spot.
When the gunshots rang out, Vice Chairman Zhou quickly realized that we had fallen into an enemy ambush, and he immediately ordered the driver Lao Li to speed up the advance, and only by rushing through the dam in front of us could we get rid of the enemy's ambush.
When Lao Li heard the order, he immediately increased the accelerator, however, when the truck just arrived in front of the dam beam, several black holes suddenly appeared on the dam beam, the gunshots rang out, the truck's tires were broken, and Lao Li also died heroically.
Vice Chairman Zhou knew that the situation was critical and he could no longer stay in the truck, so he immediately shouted to the soldiers behind him: "Get out of the car quickly, disperse and return fire!" With that, he pushed the door, jumped out of the cab, and rolled over to the tires to fight back.
Immediately afterwards, Chen Youcai and others also jumped out of the car and launched a fierce exchange of fire with the enemy. The enemy numbered more than 130 and we were only a quarter of them, and the battle was fierce.
As the battle continued, Chen Youcai had basically seen the enemy's deployment and firepower, and confirmed that the enemy only occupied three hills and both sides of the dam beam, and the road ahead had been blocked by the enemy's firepower, and there was no hope of breaking through.
However, the hope of breaking through was on the hill to the right of our side, where the enemy did not deploy any troops.
On the hill to the right of the Red Army, surrounded by primeval forests, and below the hill are clumps of shrubs and weeds. As long as we pass through a small clearing covered with trees and grass, we can reach the top of the hill and break through safely.
Chen Youcai discovered the secret and reported the discovery to Vice Chairman Zhou. Vice Chairman Zhou immediately made a decision and immediately commanded everyone to retreat while fighting, preparing to break through.
The actions of Vice Chairman Zhou and others attracted the attention of the enemy, and they launched an even more fierce attack on our side. Chen Youcai was also shot in the leg, but he persevered, commanding a part of the fighters to block the enemy near the car, while organizing another part of the fighters to cover Vice Chairman Zhou's breakthrough.
The bandits hiding behind the fortifications and in the bushes also observed Chen Youcai in front of the carriage. Seeing him in a suit, tie, top hat, and riding boots, commanding the Red Army soldiers to confront them, they immediately recognized him as an important figure in the Communist Party***
So, long guns and short cannons beckoned to him. What these bandits didn't know was that Vice Chairman Zhou was not wearing a suit that day, but a brand new military uniform.
Chen Youcai saw that there were more and more bullets hitting him, and he immediately understood that the enemy had been fooled, and he mistook himself for Vice Chairman Zhou. He understood that every minute of delay would give Vice Chairman Zhou more hope of escape, so he decided to continue to disguise himself as Vice Chairman Zhou to confuse the enemy, imitate Vice Chairman Zhou's accent and command loudly, successfully attracting most of the enemy's firepower and making the enemy believe that the target was correct.
The Red Army fighters, in an emergency moment, showed excellent tactical literacy and courage. Vice Chairman Zhou led Kong Shiquan, Xiang Sanguang and others to successfully escape, and Zhang Yunyi led the soldiers to fight and retreat, attracting the enemy.
Under the command of Chen Youcai, the soldiers withstood the enemy's attacks again and again, buying time for the safety of Vice Chairman Zhou. Although Chen Youcai and his soldiers were outnumbered, they resisted bravely and died heroically.
The bandits found the name of *** on Chen Youcai's body, and they were very happy, but at the same time, they also took brutal revenge on Chen Youcai. Fortunately, the communications squad of our army was near the place where Vice Chairman Zhou was in distress, and they reported the situation to the General Staff of the Red Army by other means.
After Huang Lin received the report, he immediately realized that there might be an enemy intent to attack Vice Chairman Zhou. He urgently summoned the fighters of the 1st pistol company and prepared to go to the rescue. When they arrived at Baishizi Street, the chief of staff had already led the chiefs' horses and asked them to ride there.
Even if the sky falls, *** who can stay calm also appeared, he looked at Huang Lin seriously, and only said: "Don't have any worries, you have to save Vice Chairman Zhou no matter what!" ”
Huang Lin promised to bring Vice Chairman Zhou back safely, and then set off with the soldiers. However, as soon as they reached the Sanshilipu checkpoint, they found that Vice Chairman Zhou was already waiting for them there.
After Laoshan was in distress in 1937, Zhang Yunyi, Kong Shiquan, and Cao Hong successfully broke through and joined the soldiers at the checkpoint in Yan'an. **After learning the news, people have been sent to the rescue.
Vice Chairman Zhou was very happy and asked Zhang Yunyi and the comrades at the checkpoint to take the soldiers to the mountains to rescue the comrades who were still fighting. But by the time they arrived, the enemy had already fled, leaving behind bullet-riddled trucks, strewn papers and the remains of soldiers.
However, they managed to find 4 fighters who were seriously injured and unconscious. Zhang Yunyi and his comrades-in-arms collected the remains of the sacrificed soldiers and embarked on the return journey with the wounded.
Zhang Yunyi returned to the checkpoint and did not say much, but handed a blanket covered with knife marks and blood to Vice Chairman Zhou. Vice Chairman Zhou took the blanket, knowing that it was the item that Chen Youcai was carrying, and silently prayed in his heart that Comrade Chen Youcai was still there.
However, when he carefully examined the blanket, he found that the blood stains on it had dried up, and Comrade Chen Youcai had already died. He burst into tears, clutched the blanket, and sighed deeply: "Youcai died for me, and I will never forget him." ”
This Laoshan incident of chasing and suppressing the first class quickly spread throughout the country and attracted great attention from the world. He angrily ordered the relevant departments to immediately investigate and find out who planned and carried out this major assassination against ***.
Soon after, this task fell to Xie Ziqun, chief of the Security Section and Investigation Section of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningbo Border Security Office. Xie Ziqun is a veteran Red Army who has experienced the tempering of the Long March, solved many difficult cases, and is deeply appreciated.
He once said: "He is our treasure, and he will be able to take on the responsibility in the future." ”
Who leaked the whereabouts and equipment of Vice Chairman Zhou and his entourage to the bandits? He is convinced that as long as the internal ghost is identified, it will bring important progress to solving the case. As a result, he began a detailed investigation of the people who knew Vice Chairman Zhou's whereabouts.
When Xie Ziqun was with ***, he quickly found Feng Changdou who was hiding in Yan'an and arrested him. After interrogation, Feng Changdou frankly admitted that the bandits who ambushed Vice Chairman Zhou that day were Li Qingwu and Ji Yanshou's subordinates.
These two are the largest bandits in the area, one openly and the other secretly manipulating. Li Qingwu was originally a local bandit, and was later reorganized into the Hongquan County Commando by the Hongquan County Revolutionary Committee, but was soon co-opted by the Kuomintang and became a bandit.
Ji Yanshou is a local squire, secretly controlling an 80-member bandit army. **After moving to Yan'an, the Bandit Suppression Command was established, with Wu Tailiang, director of the Yan'an County Security Bureau, as the commander, with the goal of eliminating Ji Yanshou's subordinates.
Wu Tailiang personally led the troops to Linzhen to suppress the bandits, and successfully eliminated most of Ji Yanshou's bandits and made them join Li Qingwu.
The leadership of the Red Army recognized the danger of the local bandits and decided to exterminate them immediately. With the cooperation of the local troops in the five counties of Yan'an, Ganquan, Fuxian, Yichuan, and Hongquan, all the bandits were successfully eliminated in less than a month.
More than a dozen bandit leaders, including Li Qingwu and Ji Yanshou, were captured by our army and executed in public. When the local people learned that it was he who reported the news of Vice Chairman Zhou's trip to Xi'an to the bandits and almost killed Vice Chairman Zhou, they demanded that he be severely punished.
After the meeting, Feng Changdou was executed. A yellowed ** recorded the scene of Chen Youcai being rescued, and ** has never forgotten it. In 1973, when he returned to Yan'an, he repeatedly asked to go to Chen Youcai's grave in person to pay respects.
However, due to the extensive destruction of the graves of the martyrs during Hu Zongnan's invasion of Yan'an, including the grave of the martyr Chen Youcai, we have not been able to confirm the exact location.
It can only be confirmed that the grave of martyr Chen Youcai should be in the area south of the many martyrs' graves in Qingliang Mountain.
**After learning about this, my heart was very heavy, and tears couldn't help but fall. On the occasion of parting, he repeatedly told the local comrades: "Be sure to find the grave of the martyr Chen Youcai!" ”
In 1976, ** passed away forever with the regret of failing to find the grave of the martyr Chen Youcai. When cleaning the body of the prime minister, people found a yellowed ** in his underwear pocket, which recorded the life and death test they had faced: "Laoshan is in distress, only 4 people remain. ”
