The 2024 Shanghai Jing'an Half Marathon will start at 7 a.m. on March 17 at the north gate of Daning Park.
This afternoon (6th), the Organizing Committee of the 2024 Shanghai Jing'an Half Marathon in Daning Functional Area held a press conference. The organizers of the Suzhou Taihu Blue Women's Elite Race, Wuxi Taihu Women's Half Marathon, and Shanghai Jing'an Half Marathon jointly released the event information and carried out the signing and launching ceremony of the strategic cooperation on the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta. Runners who meet the corresponding standards in the three events will receive free direct access to the other two events, encouraging road runners to "travel with the event".
The event will actively implement the national strategy of integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, deepen the cross-regional exchange of advantageous resources and elements in sports-related fields in Jing'an, Suzhou and Wuxi, and build brand sports events such as marathons into "power sources" to expand the city's influence and enhance the city's competitiveness "booster", relying on the event to activate the force, promote consumption and stabilize growth, and play a more active and diversified role in regional economic and social development.
Since its inception in 2018, the scale of the event has been continuously expanded, the quality has gradually improved, and it has become a landmark urban marathon road running event with its own brand in Jing'an District. This year's event has been rebranded from the Jing'an Women's Half Marathon to the Jing'an Half Marathon. The track is centered on Daning Park and extended by the Daning functional area, with rich landscapes along the way. Contestants will pass through the Wanrong Road Tunnel, a major passage running through the north and south of Jing'an, and visit the high-quality commercial complexes in Daning functional area represented by Daning ** Plaza, Daning Center, Daning Business Center, etc.; Pass through Lingshi Road, which is known as the "Cosmic E-sports Center"; Passing through Pengpu Town, which won the title of the first batch of "All-in-the-Best Fitness Model Street Towns" in Shanghai, visiting "Baiyiqiao Village", experiencing the profound cultural heritage and folk life, and immersing yourself in the charm of the integration of industry and city in the functional area.
In Daning Park, the largest park in the central city of Puxi, there is a new 5-kilometer-long "digital track" that "combines wisdom and beauty", which is also the last 5 kilometers of the race. The digital runway is the first "digital runway" in the central city of Shanghai, which combines the characteristics of the park with "flowers in three seasons and scenery in four seasons", and specially sets up tulip, cherry blossom and lotus running sections, matching the corresponding flower path and rainbow line, like a meandering and gorgeous ribbon around the lake and mountains, integrating natural scenery and technological charm. The track is equipped with an interactive digital terminal large screen and an AI data collector, which can integrate and display the sports data such as runners' exercise mileage, calorie consumption, running steps, and travel speed, and the running performance record can also generate a leaderboard for runners to compete.

Runners who run the men's half marathon in 1 hour and 30 minutes in the women's half marathon in this event will be awarded a quota for the relevant events held by the main organizer and the operator of the direct race in the Yangtze River Delta region (all races can be selected in any one, and the quota is valid for one year).
Relying on the event's exclusive app "Kunyue Health", a digital participation assistant was launched to provide online services such as competition storage and score record inquiry for contestants. The event also presented a "digital health card" to all participants, which can be activated and used for free for one year at all Kunyue shared gyms in the Daning functional area. In addition to a complete range of materials for participation and finishing, this year, the organizing committee also actively expanded the content of the finishing service area, linked up with brand merchants in Daning business district, and carried out a carnival to give discounts to runners and help consumption.
More than 800 volunteers will be organized to provide entry guidance, order maintenance, safety observation, supply and other post services. There will be 8 drinking water supply points, more than 10 medical stations, 10 ambulances, and 20 AEDs along the track, and a professional track rescue team will be equipped to provide complete event services and all-round participation guarantee for the runners.
