Within the People's Armed Police Force (hereinafter referred to as the Armed Police Force), its organizational structure follows the general laws of military management and implements a hierarchical command and management system. From the corps (provincial-level units, generally at the regular army level or deputy army level), detachments (prefecture-level and city-level units, roughly corresponding to the regimental level to the regimental level), brigades (county-level and city-level units, equivalent to the battalion level), and up to the squadron (county-level or lower-level units, equivalent to the company level). In this system, the armed police squadron is like a grassroots combat unit, and its direct leader is the squadron leader.
Therefore, the leader of the armed police squadron is equivalent to the company commander in the army, and is responsible for the daily training, management and performance of various tasks of the entire squadron. In terms of military rank, since the squadron is a company-level unit, the squadron leader is usually awarded the rank of lieutenant or captain. Of course, in practice, some squadron leaders may be assigned to the rank of deputy battalion because of work needs or personal performance, in which case the corresponding rank may reach the rank of captain or even major.
To put it simply, if you imagine the armed police force as a big tree, the headquarters is like the backbone, the detachment is like the branch, and the brigade is the branch, then the squadron is the leaf, and the squadron leader is the person in charge of taking care of this "leaf". They assume front-line management and command responsibilities and are crucial to maintaining the overall combat effectiveness of the PAPF and fulfilling its diverse tasks.
