Over the past 40 years, Academician Chen Songlin has been conscientious and dedicated to the research of fish biotechnology (engineering), established a marine fish germplasm cryopreservation technology system, discovered China's first fish sex-specific molecular marker, completed China's first fish whole genome sequencing, filled many gaps, and achieved a number of world-leading scientific and technological achievements. In 2021, Chen Songlin was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, becoming the eighth academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
