The legend is as follows: one day, Tang Taizong Li Shimin was seriously ill, and whenever night fell, he always fell into nightmares, and the ghosts in the dreams asked for his life, making it difficult for him to sleep and eat. After learning of this, Qin Qiong and Wei Chigong picked up their weapons and stood guard at the palace gate, guarding all night.
The strange thing is that this night, Tang Taizong fell asleep peacefully, and woke up at dawn. This news gradually spread to the people, and from then on, Yu Chigong and Qin Qiong replaced Shen Tu and Yu Lei and became the new door gods.
Originally a blacksmith, Wei Chigong joined the army due to the turmoil of the Sui Dynasty and gained prestige for his courageous fighting style. In a battle with the Tang army in Xia County, Wei Chigong defeated the Tang army, which indirectly led to the death of Li Yuan's cousin Li Xiaoji.
Li Yuan was deeply enraged, vowed to avenge his cousin, and sent Li Shimin to lead a large army against Liu Wuzhou. Wei Chigong excelled in his skills, but suffered a crushing defeat in this battle and was captured.
However, Li Shimin saw through that Wei Chigong was not a rebel, released him, rewarded him with a box of gold, silver and jewelry, and had an in-depth conversation.
Since then, Wei Chigong has served Li Shimin, fought in the south and the north together, made many military exploits, and became a capable general under Li Shimin.
In order to consolidate the status of the crown prince, Li Jiancheng was determined to win over Wei Chigong. Knowing that Wei Chigong loves wealth, Li Jiancheng sent a carriage of gold, silver and jewelry, and attached a handwritten letter, hoping to become friends.

Afterwards, Li Shimin rewarded Wei Chigong heavily, giving him first-class treatment, rewarding 10,000 horses of silk and Li Yuanji's mansion and property.
However, Princess Qi has become an untouchable forbidden place and has been brought back to the palace by Li Shimin.
