First, the mud is stale
After the purple sand mud is refined, it needs to be aged for a period of time before it can be made into a pot. This principle is a bit like waking the surface, after the mud is refined, the substances inside need to be further fused, some particles will absorb water and expand, some particles will decompose, and some substances will accumulate because of commonality (such as iron, which is one of the reasons for the mud). Generally, the mud should be re-refined after being placed for a period of time, so that these substances can be reconstituted again (which can also solve the problem of flower mud), and the mud will become thinner each time it is refined. Therefore, if the pot made by the same author is before and after refining, because there is a slight difference in the thickness of the mud, and then after the baptism of the kiln fire, the color and texture will be different.
Second, the workmanship of the potter
Making a pot is the most difficult part, because from the beginning of the mud piece to the completion of the production of a pot, it takes many processes, and the variables of each process will have an impact on the finished product. The weight of the mud piece will directly affect the density of the mud, and the effect of firing is naturally different due to different densities. In the same way, many links such as the bucket, grate barrel, and bright needle will bring great changes to the surface texture of the finished product. The needle is an important process of making pots, and the quality of the potter's needle kung fu directly affects the texture of the surface of the finished product. The potter with a good needle, the pot blank that is taken care of, the slurry surface is full, and the particles are looming. In the later stage of firing, at the same temperature, the slurry surface is thick and thin, and the color and texture will be very different. The position of the particles in the mud is different, and the degree of reflection of the kiln fire is also different, and it will not be the same when it is naturally burned.
3. Kiln fire atmosphereThe master of the kettle will often joke: "The pot is not finished after it is finished, and whether it can become a good pot depends on whether the kiln god appreciates the face or not." It's a joke, but it shows the importance of kiln firing. Firing is the last link of the purple clay pot, but the variables are no less than the process of making the pot. And there will be many uncontrollable factors in this process, and this uncontrollable factor is expressed by "atmosphere". 
The biggest uncontrollable factor is the weather, all year round, spring, summer, autumn and winter, the temperature in the same position in the kiln is different, windy and rainy, dry and wet, the environment in the kiln is different, and the kiln master must grasp these variables according to experience.
