We often say: change what can be changed, accept what can't be changed. So here's the problem, we don't know what to change and what not to change. There are also times when we are not unaware, but are limited by our own inertia.
There is a particularly subtle passage in Mencius. Mencius talked about one "not for" and one "cannot". What does it mean to "can't"?Carrying Mount Tai over the North Sea, this is "can't". But many things are not "can't", but we "don't do".
Some friends say that there are many things in life, so I don't do them. This is not right, what we don't do is limited to things that we "can't", things that we can't do at the moment, so we choose to let go. For example, if something has already happened, it is a helpless move, so we believe that everything is the best arrangement, and then it is "can't do" (can't), but it is never "inaction" (not for).
For example, I went out to buy groceries tonight and didn't buy the right one, or it was too late, or I was too tired from work today, and I might not have anything to eat when I finally got home, so what do we think at this time?In fact, skipping a meal is quite good for the body. But we can't say that we lie at home and play on our phones without cooking, and it's good to say that we don't eat, that's not right.
It's problematic to not do what we don't do because of our inertia, so we have to avoid being held hostage by our own inertia. However, some objective reasons cannot be solved, and those are not our problems, which are actually our own differences.
