The "Theory of Contradiction" says that the question of the universality or absoluteness of contradiction has two meanings. One is that contradictions exist in the development of all things; The second is that there is a contradictory movement in the development of every thing from beginning to end.
The Theory of Contradiction is a great philosophical work, and it is also the ultimate in the dialectics of Western philosophy.
After the Qin and Han dynasties, the understanding of their own culture was shallow, and all the real cultures of China and even the world could be explained by Yi Dao, and the theory of the Book of Changes was produced in seven or eight thousand years BC, with integrity, systematization, universality or absoluteness, and logic. In other words, even the philosophical dialectics that originated in the West can be explained by Yi Dao, or in other words, Yi Dao is the reason for the dialectics of Western philosophy.
The reason why the world, strictly speaking, the acquired world is contradictory is because everything in the world is formed by the two qi of yin and yang. And Yin and Yang are the core theories of Yi Dao. After the Qin and Han dynasties, the perception of the way of yin and yang was superficial, empirical, messy, and vague. Based on this, I will give a systematic and complete explanation of some of the main key philosophical ideas in the "Theory of Contradiction" of the first sages, using the Yin and Yang Tao of the I Ching, so that people can re-examine how great and profound their own culture is.
In order to understand the way of yin and yang, I must first list the December hexagram or the twelve hexagram here, this diagram is intuitive and profound, simple and systematic, and only this December hexagram can explain the "Theory of Contradiction" of the sage, and this diagram is a complete and comprehensive embodiment of the way of yin and yang.
The Theory of Contradiction says that contradictions exist in the development process of all things. The fundamental reason why the world is contradictory is that everything is formed by yin and yang. It's just that the West has established a concept called contradiction, and it is not surprising that the Western philosophical dialectic comes from our Yi Dao. Moreover, the way of yin and yang includes not only all theories of philosophical dialectics, but also theoretical systems that philosophical dialectics does not have.
Yin and Yang are not material, they are beyond matter, and it is precisely because Yin and Yang are beyond matter that Yin and Yang can be accessible in all things. Yin and Yang Qi is something similar to energy, I can only say things, it is not matter.
The Book of Changes says that Taiji gives birth to two rituals, two rituals give birth to four elephants, and four elephants give birth to gossip, and gossip can give birth to all things. Therefore, the essence of all things comes from the two qi of yin and yang. This is the fundamental principle that everything is contradictory.
Here, to be clear, the contradictory view of Western philosophical dialectics can only be attached to everything, but the yin and yang are beyond all things, so the yin and yang can explain why everything has contradictory properties. In other words, the contradictory nature of all things is only the embodiment or appearance of yin and yang.
The Theory of Contradiction says that there is a contradictory movement from beginning to end in the development of every thing.
Here everything is concrete to everything. Everything is developing and changing, and the development and change of things comes from the contradictory movement, and this contradictory movement always exists in the development process of things.
And the way of yin and yang in the I Ching, I once summarized it as the sixteen-character axiom of yin and yang. Yang grows and yin disappears, the anode produces yin, yin grows yang, and the cathode is yang. It can be seen that this sixteen-character axiom is also in motion from beginning to end, and it is more rigorous, profound, and comprehensive than the contradictory views of the West. Moreover, the movement of yin and yang can be described in mathematical language, which is much more advanced than the general contradictory movement in the West.
In other words, the two qi of yin and yang are in constant motion. There is no pause, and everything is controlled by yin and yang. The reason why things can produce contradictory movements is precisely because of the growth and decline of yin and yang. In other words, the contradictory movement can be further profound, comprehensively and concretely explained in the mathematical language of yin and yang.
These are the four words from beginning to end in "The Theory of Contradiction". It starts with the one of yang, the six of yin, and ends with the nine of yang and the four of yin. In other words, the two qi of yin and yang divide the contradictory movement into four stages. Among them, the growth of yang energy is one, three, (five), seven, nine. And the growth of yin qi is four, two (ten), eight, six.
In other words, the contradictory movement of every thing has four typical stages. That's the mathematical description from beginning to end. From the beginning of the contradictory movement of every thing to the end of the contradiction of every thing, these four stages are inseparable. These four stages already contain the principle of quantitative and qualitative change, and I will touch on this topic again when I continue to explain the "Theory of Contradiction" in the future.
Therefore, if we want to comprehensively and profoundly grasp the contradictory movement of things, we must go through the two qi of yin and yang, and the sixteen-character axiom of yin and yang is a golden key to explain the acquired world and the wisdom of the sage. It is almost 7,000 years earlier than Western philosophy.
The December hexagram I mentioned earlier is not only a manifestation of the contradictory movement of all things, but also a manifestation of the contradictory movement of every thing. Great!
