Royal Dragons is a sequel to "Western Dragons" (i.e., "Shanghai Noon"), directed by David Dawkin and starring Jackie Chan, Owen Wilson, Fan Wenfang, Donnie Yen, etc. The film was released in the United States on February 3, 2003.
The "night" in the original title "Shanghai Night" was intended as the opposite of "noon" in "Shanghai Noon", and later evolved into the homonym "knight", and the English title became "Shanghai Knight". The story spans China, the United States and the United Kingdom. In the Victorian era, Jackie Chan showed off his kung fu and traveled to all the major attractions in London, not only showing off his Chinese kung fu on the Eiffel Tower, but also making a big fuss in the wax museum.
Royal Dragons cost a lot of money, not only all the live production, but also went to the cold Prague to shoot, built more than 70 real scenes, one of the Chinese palaces alone used 200 construction crews, and painted more than 300 design drawings. For the finale, Big Ben in London, the crew built four sets of large sets to achieve a perfect and realistic effect, and the clock was one-third larger than the original Big Ben. Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson have to complete the fight action on the narrow wooden passage, and there are many camera crews and equipment next to them, and even Jackie Chan, who is used to shooting dangerous scenes, said that it was thrilling.
The film grossed a total of $88.32 million worldwide, ranking fifth in the top 10 box office in North America.
