Speaking of ***, many people will think of Zhang Heng's invention of the wind and ground motion instrument, but it does not know in advance when it will happen, and will only tell us which direction it happened after it happens.
At present, it is still a major problem faced by scientists around the world, but we have not given up our efforts, using a number of means and methods to monitor every move of the earth, trying to seek a breakthrough in this problem.
A thousand years after the invention of the wind and ground motion instrument, in 2018, China launched the first electromagnetic monitoring test satellite "Zhangheng-1". Prior to this, many countries have launched similar electromagnetic monitoring satellites, so what will be the performance of "Zhangheng-1"?
"A lot
Three heads and six arms. Zhang Heng No. 1 "**Duoduo, the main body shape is 1 in length, width and heightA 4-meter cube weighs about 730 kilograms, and although it is small, it has three heads and six arms.
It carries 8 kinds of payloads, including inductive magnetometer and high-precision magnetometer, which are divided into three categories: electromagnetic field payload, ionospheric in-situ parameter measurement payload, and ionospheric structure tomography payload. These three types of payloads can be said to constitute the "three heads" of "Zhangheng-1". There are also six long "tentacles", and these are its six arms! The six "antennae" are actually one-dimensional elastic extension rod mechanisms, and these "antennae" are nearly five meters long when unfolded, and when folded, they are only the size of a palm, and the payload is mounted on top of the "antennae". These 6 powerful "arm" extension mechanisms are great "heroes", they can extend the distance between payloads from less than 2 meters to more than 10 meters, avoid mutual interference in the electromagnetic environment, and make the "distance beautiful" between the payloads.
Shouldering the heavy responsibility
Monitor changes in electromagnetic fields.
Coming to space with so many powerful "** is not for fun and tourism, but for shouldering the heavy responsibility of ***!
Zhang Heng-1 is committed to monitoring the changes in the electromagnetic field in space before the big one, so as to achieve the goal of the first time. In addition to being wrapped in air, the exterior of the earth is also a thin "shell" composed of electromagnetic fields, which is a world of "electrons" and "ions". This "shell" is like water to some extent, and when affected by the movement of the earth's crust and human activities on the ground, the "electromagnetic waves" in it will propagate in the plasma environment like "ripples" in the water. Zhang Heng-1 is like a pair of eyes, "staring" at the earth's magnetic field at the moment of space, and its sensitivity is equivalent to distinguishing a small water drop on the tip of a giant wave thousands of meters high. Once the earth's electromagnetic disturbance, even if it is just a little ripple, it will immediately "hand in" the data, which are the first-hand and most authentic information for scientists engaged in forecasting.
The results have been fruitful
At present, the "Zhangheng-1" satellite has successfully completed its five-year design mission, and has achieved fruitful results in the fifth anniversary of its in-orbit operation: China has successfully obtained two sets of basic data sets covering the global geomagnetic field and low-frequency electromagnetic spectrum for the first time, and has completely recorded more than 500 strong earthquakes of magnitude 6 or above and nearly 60 strong earthquakes of magnitude 7 or above in the worldOn this basis, for the first time, two scientific models of global reference geomagnetic field and lithosphere-atmosphere-ionospheric coupling mechanism were systematically constructed, reaching the international leading levelThe anatomy and statistical analysis of global salient seismic cases have been comprehensively carried out, and a preliminary understanding of the spatiotemporal statistical laws of electromagnetic and ionospheric precursors has been obtainedAt the same time, the analysis and research of space weather disasters and volcanic disasters have also been carried out, which provides positive support for further scientific exploration and monitoring and early warning of multi-hazard disaster chains.
February 6, 2023 Turkey 7After the magnitude 8 earthquake, the Zhangheng-1 satellite data analyzed and compared the observation data before and after the earthquake, and found that electromagnetic waves and plasma precursor anomalies appeared intermittently about 20 days before the earthquake. Although at present, "Zhangheng No. 1" still cannot be directly forecasted, but through a large number of data accumulation and seismic analysis, some rules have been found, adding new means to the exploration and promoting the development of China's advanced technology.
Looking forward to more surprises from Zhang Heng No. 1!
