Today, we bring you a PS example tutorial to teach you how to make a good-looking gradient lattice background.
Let's take a look at the final result
Let's take a look at the specific steps.
First, let's create a new square canvas in PS, where my size is 1200px 1200px.
Next, we draw a 400px 400px square, filled with an angular gradient in black and white.
Then, holding down the alt key, we duplicate a few squares and let them fill the entire canvas. At the same time, we can adjust the angle of each square gradient to form a random effect.
Next, we select all the rectangular layers and right-click on them to convert them to Smart Objects.
Then, let's add a gradient mapping adjustment layer and choose a gradient that we like.
Next, it's time for the most crucial step: making a distorted effect.
Let's select the rectangular layer and select "Filter" - "Distort" - "Shear".
The pop-up Shear dialog box is shown in the following figure:
You can see that in the white box in the upper left corner, there are two adjustment points on the left side up and down, we can drag these two adjustment points, and at this time, the lower shape will also change.
In fact, this line functions like a "curve", which is a very visual representation of the shear pattern of the graph.
We can add a little bit of drag and drop on the curve to create a distorted effect.
If you want to delete a point on the curve, just hold it down and drag it outside the white box.
Once we are satisfied with the lattice shape, we can click "OK". At this point, the shape of the lattice is distorted.
Of course, if you're not happy with the distorted shape of the lattice, you can also double-click the Shear filter below the lattice layer to go back to the Shear window and readjust the shape.
In addition, we can double-click the thumbnail of the rectangle layer to adjust the direction of the rectangle gradient. That's the benefit of converting to a Smart Object.
In short, we can adjust the rectangle arbitrarily according to our needs, which is still very convenient. You can try to make a beautiful effect for yourself.
