【Artist Profile】Ke TongzhiBorn in Putian, Fujian Province in 1943, he graduated from the Art Department of Fujian Normal University in 1965 under the tutelage of Song Shengyu and Chen Zifen, famous artists of the Lingnan School. Assigned to work in Xi'an for 16 years, during which he learned printmaking from Mr. Xiujun, a printmaker. In 1981, his family was transferred to Changsha, Hunan, and served as vice chairman of Changsha Federation of Literature, member of the party group, chairman of Changsha Fine Arts Association, chairman of Hunan Flower and Bird Painters Association, vice president of the Calligraphy and Painting Institute of the National Defense University of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, and deputy director of the Chinese Painting Art Committee of the Hunan Provincial Art Association.
He is currently a researcher of the Art Creation Institute of the Chinese Academy of Arts, a researcher of the Painting and Calligraphy Institute of the ** Museum of Culture and History, a member of the Chinese Artists Association, a member of the Chinese Printmakers Association, an honorary chairman of the Hunan Flower and Bird Painters Association, a research librarian of the Hunan Provincial Museum of Culture and History, an executive director of the China Tropical Rainforest Art Research Institute, and a consultant of the Hunan Chinese Painting Society.
From 2014 to 2017, he held solo exhibitions at the National Art Museum of China, Xiamen Art Museum, National Defense University of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and the Party School of the Communist Party of China.
In August 2019, as a Chinese painter, he was invited to attend the 5th Xu Zhimo International Poetry Festival at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom, during which he participated in the Sino-Western Art Forum to talk about the artistic characteristics of Chinese tropical rainforest flower and bird painting, and held the Ke Tongzhi Yunnan Tropical Rainforest Flower and Bird Painting Exhibition at the King's College Art Center.
In 2019, the work "A Love in Spring" was included in the "Collection of Excellent Works of Chinese Famous Artists of Flower and Bird Painting in the Past Dynasties" by the National Art Museum of China, and 42 works of flower and bird paintings were included in the "Chinese Modern and Modern Famous Masters Series" by Tianjin Yangliuqing Painting Society
In recent years, his innovative paintings of flowers and birds have been widely recognized by the society, and 26 educational publishing houses, provincial and municipal art publishing houses and university art academies have successively edited and published Ke Tongzhi's paintings as teaching models for higher art colleges and universities, and released them to the public.
