Previously, Lei Bao has released an inventory of domestic animations in 2023. According to Lighthouse Pro data, a total of 62 movies will be released in 2023. Among them, 36 domestic films, 25 imported films, and 1 film from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
During the year, a total of 14 animated films exceeded 100 million yuan at the box office, and the top three were all domestic animated films, namely "Thirty Thousand Miles of Chang'an" (box office: 18.) released in July2.4 billion yuan), "Bear Infested, Stay with Me "Bear Core" (box office 14.) released in January9.5 billion yuan) and "Deep Sea" (box office: 91.9 billion yuan). Among them, "Thirty Thousand Miles of Chang'an" is a "chasing light" work;"Deep Sea" and "Tea Ah No. 2 Middle School" are both "light" works;"Bear Infested, Stay with Me "Bear Core"" is from Huaqiang Fangte. No other domestic film and television company has launched an animated film with a box office of more than 100 million.
There are 36 domestic animated films, and only 4 of them have a box office of more than 100 million, and the hits are still "rare".
Lei Bao [WeChat: leinews*** concern] counted the box office and participating companies of all 62 animated films released in Chinese mainland in 2023. Among them, domestic films accounted for 36, compared with 29 in 22 years and 37 in 21 years, the output is stable, but the quality is uneven, and the mainstream position of children's themes has not wavered. 
There are only 4 domestic animated films with a box office of over 100 million. There are 2 films that have exceeded the billion mark at the box office, namely "Thirty Thousand Miles of Chang'an" (18.) in the "Chasing Light" universe2.4 billion yuan box office), Huaqiang Fangte's "Bear Infested, Stay with Me "Bear Core" (149.5 billion yuan box office);The other 2 works with a box office of more than 100 million belong to the "light", namely "Deep Sea" (9.).1.9 billion yuan box office), "Tea Ah No. 2 Middle School" (38.4 billion yuan box office).

In addition, the "Fairy Tale King" Zheng Yuanjie's "Shuke and Beta" IP movie "Shuke Beta Pentagon Flying Saucer" will be released on December 30, with a box office of 50 million to 80 million yuan.
Judging from the companies participating in these animated films, "chasing light" and "light" are still eye-catching.
In today's domestic animated film market, "light" can almost be called "two dominant", and in recent years, animated films with a good reputation and a box office of over 100 million are basically from these two (see the table below). In addition, according to the filing publicity materials released by the National Film Administration, Chasing Light has 2 new films that have passed the record this year, namely "Liao Zhai: Lanruo Temple" and "White Snake: Floating Life";"Light" has filed 5 projects this year, namely "Go to Your Island", "Big Fish and Begonia Three", "Shuofeng", "Liaozhai Rakshasa Haishi" and "Liang Zhu".
In terms of animation and IP companies, it is still Huaqiang Fangte, Aofei Entertainment, Yongsheng Animation and other companies with veteran children's IP that "have names", and the works of other animation companies are unsatisfactory.
In terms of traditional film companies, state-owned factories led by "Big Brother" China Film have stable output;Wanda Pictures, Bona Films, Hengdian Film and Television, Huayi Brothers and other private factories also appeared.
Internet film companies are active, led by Alibaba Pictures, and Ali companies such as Taopiaopiao, Small Universe, iDream Microtech, and Youku are appearing more and more frequentlyMaoyan's Maoyan Micro Shadow and Maoyan Time Machine, which are backed by Tencent and Meituan, also often appear;In addition, there are also Douyin Culture, China Literature Film and Television.
It's worth noting that game companies are also in the game. Perfect World continues to make new moves in the film and television industry. To a certain extent, it can be seen that as the platform animation competition of "Aiyouteng B" tends to be "white-hot", the Internet giants backed by these platforms are also aiming at the animated film industry. In addition, other content companies such as short ** and games are also testing the waters of animated films, trying to "get a piece of the pie".
25 imported films, IP is in charge, and Japan and the United States are still the main forces
In terms of imported films, among the 25 imported animated films during the year, 11 were from Japan, 8 from the United States, 3 from France, 2 from Germany, and some from Belgium, Canada, Russia, etc., a total of 7 countries. Generally speaking, the main players of imported animated films in the Chinese market are still Japan and the United States. 
Among the 14 films in China that will grossing more than 100 million yuan in 2023, 10 are imported animated films, of which 6 are from Japan and 4 are from the United StatesOf the seven imported films with a box office of more than 10 million, four came from Japan and two from the United States.
These films can be roughly divided into two categories, one is the works of famous artists and big factories, such as Makoto Shinkai's "The Journey of Suzuya" (80.7 billion yuan box office);Hayao Miyazaki's "Castle in the Sky" (13.5 billion yuan box office), "Porco Rosso";There are also Disney's "Star Wish", Disney's Pixar Studio's "Crazy Element City" (11.4 billion yuan box office);and Universal's "Flying Duck Rushes Forward", among others.
The other category is IP movies, which account for the majority in terms of quantity, which is basically the same as the domestic situation.

Compared with the modeled children's theme content of domestic animated films, imported films are more mature and diversified in terms of art style and subject type.
Judging from the animated films that have passed the script filing and project announcement this year, in the domestic animated film market in the next one or two years, in addition to children's IP, there will still be "fairies" and "monsters" fighting, and "mythology" and "national style" are the most popular. Under the theme of "flooding", it is worrying how many "indiscriminate" works will appear.
However, in the animated film market in 2023, there will still be 2 works with a box office of one billion in one fell swoop, creating a new record and giving practitioners a "shot in the arm". After all, since the 5 billion yuan box office in 2019, "Nezha's Demon Boy Descends to the World" with a box office of 1.6 billion yuan, in 2021 and 2022, there has been no "hit" of domestic animated films with a box office of one billion yuan. In addition, through the success of historical themes such as "Thirty Thousand Miles of Chang'an" and fantasy films such as "Deep Sea", we can also see the market potential of "national" animation and youth-oriented and first-class animated films. This kind of attempt to demythologize and de-IP themes of animated films may make the genre of domestic animated films more diversified in the future.
