Coal chemical wastewater is a complex industrial wastewater, in which COD (chemical oxygen demand) is an important indicator to measure the organic matter content in wastewater. In the SBR (Sequential Batch Reactor) process, the effluent has undergone a series of treatment steps and the COD concentration of the effluent should meet the discharge standards. However, sometimes the COD concentration in the effluent may exceed the standard. In this paper, the reasons for the COD exceeding the COD in the SBR effluent of the coal chemical wastewater treatment process are analyzed, and the corresponding countermeasures are proposed.
First of all, a common cause of excessive COD in the effluent of the SBR process of coal chemical wastewater treatment is the high COD concentration in the influent water. This may be due to contamination of raw materials during the production process or imperfect pre-treatment prior to treatment. To solve this problem, additional pretreatment steps such as precipitation, pH adjustment, etc., can be taken to reduce the COD concentration in the influent water.
Secondly, another possible reason for excessive COD is that the SBR process is not efficient enough for the degradation of organic matter. This may be related to the quality and insufficient activation of the sludge. Therefore, it can be considered to increase the input of organic degrading activated sludge, or improve the organic degradation effect of the SBR process by increasing the aeration time and increasing the oxygen**.
At the same time, the operation and management of the SBR process itself may also affect the COD concentration of the effluent. For example, if the reaction time is insufficient due to improper operation or uneven mixing, it can cause COD exceedance. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the training and management of operating personnel to ensure the normal operation and stable operation of the SBR process.
Finally, continuous monitoring and analysis of the causes of effluent COD exceedances is essential for further process improvement and effect evaluation. Through the establishment of systematic data management and monitoring and control measures, abnormal conditions can be detected in time and corresponding improvement measures can be taken, so as to continuously improve the COD control effect of effluent in the SBR process of coal chemical wastewater treatment.
There may be many reasons for excessive COD in the effluent of SBR process for coal chemical wastewater treatment, including high COD concentration in influent water, poor degradation of organic matter, and improper operation management. In view of these problems, it is necessary to comprehensively consider countermeasures such as pretreatment, improving the degradation efficiency of organic matter, and optimizing operation and management to ensure that the wastewater treatment effect meets the discharge standards.
