According to the person in charge of the International Department of China Railway Group, in the two years since the opening and operation of the China-Laos Railway, China Railway Group has adhered to high standards, sustainability and people's livelihood, worked closely with the Lao railway department, effectively operated and managed the China-Laos Railway, and achieved remarkable results in continuously building the road of development, happiness and friendship of the people of China and Laos.
According to the data, the monthly passenger volume of the China-Laos Railway has increased from more than 600,000 at the beginning of its opening to more than 1.1 million at present. Among them, in the domestic section, there are 51 passenger trains per day, and the highest number of passengers sent in a single day is 830,000 passengers, with a total of 20.46 million passengers;In the Laos section, the average number of passenger trains per day has increased from 4 at the beginning of the opening to 10 at present, with a maximum of 10,197 passengers in a single day, and a total of 3.74 million passengers.
At the same time, the railway authorities of China and Laos have strengthened the organization of freight transportation, improved transport capacity and efficiency, and increased the number of cross-border freight trains per day from 2 at the beginning of the opening to 14 at present. The first is to expand cross-border freight products, and open 400 international freight trains on the "Lancang-Mekong Express" of the China-Laos Railway with fixed, timed, fixed routes and fixed trains, and the cargo transportation radiates to 12 "Belt and Road" countries such as Laos, Thailand, Vietnam and Myanmar and 31 major cities in 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) in China. The second is to actively explore new modes of international transportation such as "China-Laos Railway + China-Europe Express", and shorten the direct transportation time from Laos, Thailand and other countries to Europe to 15 days.
The China-Laos Railway has accelerated the flow of logistics, capital flow and information flow, and the cross-border goods category has expanded from more than 10 kinds of rubber, fertilizer and department stores in the early stage of opening to more than 2,700 kinds of electronics, photovoltaics, communications, automobiles, etc., effectively driving the development of economic parks such as Vientiane Saiseta Comprehensive Development Zone and Boten Special Economic Zone, driving the output of iron ore, cassava flour and rubber in Laos to increase significantly, and promoting the expansion and upgrading of various industries along the line and international economic and trade exchanges.
