The Chinese Human Rights Development Association and the Xinhua News Agency National High-end Think Tank jointly released the think tank report "For a Better World - The Decade of Building the Belt and Road from the Perspective of Human Rights" on the 7th. According to the report, the Belt and Road Initiative carries people's expectations for peace and tranquility, the pursuit of common development, the yearning for a better life, and the desire for exchanges among civilizations, and is committed to enabling the people of the countries to live a life free from want, development and dignity, which is in essence completely consistent with the unremitting pursuit of respecting and protecting human rights by the people of all countries in the world.
At present, mankind is once again standing at a crossroads in history, and global human rights governance is also facing severe challenges. The Belt and Road Initiative conforms to the urgent aspirations of developing countries to promote human rights through cooperation and development, contributes to the economic and social development and human rights progress of the participating countries, and provides new thinking, new impetus and new opportunities for global human rights governance.

For most countries, eradicating hunger and poverty and accelerating economic development are the most urgent and realistic tasks. The Belt and Road Initiative promotes human rights through development, actively helps underdeveloped countries eliminate development bottlenecks such as lagging infrastructure construction, promotes the economic and social development of the countries involved, protects and improves people's livelihood in the process of development, and continuously consolidates the foundation for the development of human rights, so as to better protect and promote human rights. Through the Belt and Road Initiative, China has dispatched more than 2,000 agricultural experts and technicians to more than 70 countries and regions, and promoted more than 1,500 agricultural technologies, such as Juncao and hybrid rice, to many countries, helping to reduce rural poverty in Asia, Africa, the South Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean. Over the past 10 years, the Belt and Road Initiative has implemented a large number of infrastructure construction projects, promoted the construction of railways, highways, shipping, pipelines, energy, communications and basic public service infrastructure in the participating countries, improved local production and living conditions and development environment, and enhanced the hematopoietic function of economic development. According to the World Bank, by 2030, BRI investments are expected to lift 7.6 million people out of extreme poverty and 32 million people out of moderate poverty in the countries we work with. Mohammad Asif Noor, director of the Institute of Peace and Diplomacy in Islamabad, Pakistan, said that from the perspective of global human rights governance, the Belt and Road Initiative has multiple roles. First and foremost is its focus on infrastructure and economic growth, which contribute to the rapid eradication of poverty and the improvement of people's living conditions, which are key to human rights governance.
A happy life for the people is the greatest human right. The Belt and Road Initiative adheres to the people-centered development philosophy, focuses on eradicating poverty, increasing employment and improving people's livelihood, so that the fruits of the Belt and Road Initiative can better benefit the people of all countries and make tangible contributions to local economic and social development and human rights progress. In Papua New Guinea, the expanded Butuka School has solved the problem of more than 3,000 primary and secondary school students having difficulty attending schoolIn Serbia, the "resurrected" Smederevo steel plant has saved the "jobs" of more than 5,000 employees; In Africa, the "10,000 Villages" project has opened a window for millions of Africans to understand the worldIn Kazakhstan, the demonstration project of ecological forest construction technology in the capital area has helped build an ecological protective barrier in the capital area of Kazakhstan and reduce the impact of windy weather on the lives of residents in the grasslandIn the Philippines, the San Marcelino photovoltaic project has helped many women in nearby villages find employment, increasing their incomes and improving their family status......Over the past 10 years, the Belt and Road Initiative has helped local people solve their urgent needs, improve their living conditions, enhance people's livelihood and well-being, and bring a tangible sense of gain, happiness and security to the people of all countries. Stefan Breuer, director of the Swedish Belt and Road Institute, believes that "a crucial concept is to achieve the common good of all", and in this sense, the Belt and Road Initiative is consistent with the goal of the development of human rights and the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

The Belt and Road Initiative is a vivid practice of China's concept of "promoting development through cooperation and human rights through development", and provides new enlightenment for the progress of global human rights governance. At a time when the global development process is being blocked, the Belt and Road Initiative has built an inclusive and pragmatic platform for international cooperation, and its spirit of peace and cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, mutual learning and mutual benefit has attracted more than 150 countries and more than 30 international organizations around the world to join it. The Belt and Road Initiative adheres to the principle of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits, solves development dilemmas and removes obstacles to development through win-win cooperation, forming a strong momentum for all countries to work together for common development and building for a better life for the people of all countries, laying a solid foundation for the progress of human rights in all countries and the development of global human rights governance. UN Secretary-General António Guterres believes that the Belt and Road Initiative and the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development are in the same direction, which will help promote more balanced, inclusive and harmonious development of economic globalization, and is of great significance for solving the many challenges facing the world today through international cooperation.
The realization of human rights for all is the common pursuit of human society. The Belt and Road Initiative has gone through the first decade of protecting and promoting human rights in the course of common developmentStanding at a new historical starting point, the Belt and Road Initiative has ushered in broader development opportunities, and the Belt and Road Initiative will surely promote the far-reaching development of the countries involved, promote the enjoyment of more extensive, fuller and more comprehensive rights by the people of all countries, and promote greater progress in global human rights governance.
