IT Home News on December 14, AMD today announced the open source AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 (FSR 3), supporting DirectX 12 and Unreal Engine 5, eligible developers can now obtain the full source code of FSR 3 through GPUopen.
The latest version is v30.Version 3, which is currently available as AMD FidelityFX SDK 10 special branch releases, which can provide the following:
AMD FSR 3 API for integration.
The full C++ and HLSL source code is available through the library.
FSR 3 DirectX 12 example.
AMD also reminds that all FidelityFX SDK 1 is available in this package0 example source code, but only the fsr 3 executable is prebuilt.
According to reports, the latest version of FSR 3 further improves the picture quality and expands support for VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) displays in its frame rate logic.
According to IT House, AMD FSR 3 has been used in three AAA games, including Forspoken, Immortals of **Eum, and the recently released Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

In terms of AMD graphics cards, FSR3 will support Radeon RX 5700 and above, and Radeon RX 6000 series and above are recommended.
In terms of NVIDIA graphics cards, FSR3 will support GeForce RTX 20 series and above, and GeForce RTX 30 series and above are recommended.
Many older graphics cards, such as the AMD RX 590 and NVIDIA GTX 10 series, also support some of the features of FSR 3, but not the latest frame generation features.
FSR3 introduces frame generation technology similar to NVIDIA's DLSS3, and as you can see in the graph, with FSR3 enabled, Forspoken's game frame rate increased from 4K 53 to 4K 85 and 4K 175 respectively.
