1900 2023, where are the people who live the best on average in these 123 years?

South America is a distant and vibrant continent. The 123-year years, from 1900 to 2023, reveal an interesting fact: South America has become one of the best places to live. How so?

The reasons are endless.

First, look at Asia and Europe. South, Southeast and East Asia in Asia have large populations but relatively scarce resources. The flames of World War II carried a heavy historical burden on the land, especially in densely populated India.

Europe, on the other hand, is one of the most economically developed regions, but it is also the place where wars are most frequent. World War I and World War II ravaged the land, killing millions of people.

Even the Americas, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, which were far from the war, were drawn into the quagmire of war because of their ties with their suzerain.

In the Arab countries, before the discovery of oil, they relied on limited overland trade routes to make a living.

The discovery of oil brought a period of prosperity, but because of the competition between the great powers, there were constant wars and people's suffering. South America, by contrast, survived the wars of World War I and World War II, was rich in resources, and developed a century of peace.

South America may have been a developed country or a developing country, but even with the economic downturn, there has not been a famine like in Ukraine, and millions of people have not starved to death in peacetime.

Argentina is the pearl of South America. The country is blessed with abundant resources. The land area is vast and sparsely populated, with a total population of 46.04 million in 2022.

With fertile soils, rich grasslands and a pleasant climate, Argentina is the "breadbasket and meat bank of the world". In terms of industry, Argentina is one of the major mining countries in Latin America, with rich mineral resources such as oil, natural gas, gold, and copper.

Argentina was once the world's richest exporter of agriculture and animal husbandry. After independence, the economy developed rapidly by relying on agriculture and animal husbandry. Since 1860, Argentina's export growth rate has remained above 6%, making it the world's breadbasket.

The booming economy has attracted a large number of European immigrants, and 43 consecutive years of economic growth have made Argentina a shining star in the world.

However, after World War II, Argentina's fortunes began to change. Exports were blocked, the political situation was turbulent, and the economy was gradually in trouble. The failure to complete industrial upgrading and the back-and-forth of policies have put Argentina in a vicious circle.

Foreign investment problems, political turmoil, and a homogeneous industrial structure have all contributed to the collapse of Argentina's economy.

Despite all this, people in Argentina are still getting by due to their abundant resources and sparse population.

In 2022, Argentina's GDP per capita reached $8,524 and the Human Development Index was 0825, ranking 47th in the world. Compared with Iran and Turkey, Argentina has an advantage in terms of human development.

A treasure passed down from our ancestors, it is a unique and dynamic country on the South American continent.
