HASTELLOYG-35 Primary Characteristics (Corrosion Resistance):
Hastelloy G-35 is the successor to Hastelloyg-30, which has excellent corrosion resistance in wet phosphoric acid production environments, which are widely used in fertilizer production, and in which it is far superior to Hastelloyg-30 and stainless steel. It is also resistant to partial corrosion of chloride-containing media and chloride stress corrosion cracking. The high chromium content makes it highly resistant to corrosion by other oxidizing acids such as nitric acid and nitric acid-containing mixtures. The higher molybdenum content gives it moderate resistance to reducing acids. Unlike other nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys, Hastelloy G-35 is well resistant to the dealloying elements of hot sodium hydroxide.
