EncountersWhitewater Terrace
Year of the Crane
Some people say that the water of the Baishui River comes from the mouth of the Jade Dragon, and it is a sacred place of spiritual love.
I don't believe in these claims, but I can't deny the beauty of the Baishui River: the Baishui River is a river formed by melting glacial snow water from the Yulong Snow Mountain, the water is pure, unpolluted, and its bed is composed of sedimented limestone gravel, gray-white, clear and clear river water flows through it, and it looks like a white river from a distance, hence the name. The reason why it is also called "Blue Moon Valley" is because on a sunny day, from a distance, the lake here is as blue as the sky, and the valley is in the shape of a crescent moon, which looks like a blue moon inlaid at the foot of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, so it has won the reputation of "Blue Moon Valley".
Despite this, nothing is known about the important part of the Blue Moon Valley, and even the White Water Terrace, which can be called its essence. It can even be said that the encounter with him is just a beautiful encounter.
It was the summer of 2012, and my colleagues and I embarked on a trip to Lijiang as our main goal. One day, after coming down from the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, we took a bus and drove towards the Blue Moon Valley at the eastern foot of the Snow Mountain.
After about half an hour, we started on foot. Along the way, while walking and looking, I didn't expect to see the figure of Jiuzhaigou in the four small lakes formed by the Baishui River due to the blockage of the mountain-like "Jingtan Lake" like "Jiuzhaigou Mirror Sea", the "Blue Moon Lake" with sapphire light, the stream is light, such as the "Tingtao Lake" that plucks the strings, especially the blue lake called "Yuye Lake" actually reflects the shadow of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, as if it is a landscape painting scroll that unfolds between heaven and earth, which reminds people of "half an acre of square pond is opened, and the sky and clouds and shadows wander together" The poetry comes. Moreover, they have a common wonder: the blue sky is reflected in the clear surface of the lake, making the entire lake appear pure and transparent blue, like a blue moon inlaid at the foot of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. What's even more amazing is that the colors of the water in the four lakes are the same and different, and if you look at them from different angles, they even show very different colors. It is not surprising that they enjoy the reputation of "Lijiang Little Jiuzhai".
However, this is only the prelude to the Blue Moon Valley, and more exciting shows are yet to come.
Baishuitai, known as the "Immortal Relic Field", finally appeared in our field of vision, giving me an unexpected surprise and a beautiful encounter.
Under the cover of thousands of acres of emerald greenery, a spectacular crystal white sparkles in the sun, looking from afar, like a solidified waterfall hanging on the verdant mountainside; It is also like a screen carved from white jade standing under the blue skyPerhaps, its white jade-like terraces are more like a solidified print, unfolding at the foot of Yulong Mountain. I seemed to have a dim sense that the snow-capped mountains in the distance were blue, and the moonlight at night must also be blue. Look closely, the white water platform in the green mountains is clearly the layers of terraced fields left by the immortals in the peach blossom spring, the snow-white and snow-white, the blue lake water flows down from the height along the small platform like the "terraced fields" one by one, silently moisturizing this field of the immortals planting jade. The layers of Dao Dao bead curtains formed by the upper and lower drops shone with crystal light in the summer sun, cold, like a world composed of ice crystals.
Curiosity mixed with amazement, I involuntarily stepped on a white stone staircase with one foot, and after a biting cold, an indescribable coolness spread throughout my body. I was enjoying this unstoppable pleasure when I heard a colleague shouting, "I'm going to ride a yak, you can help me take a few more pictures." Turning his head, he saw several yaks standing leisurely on the platform, as if waiting for something. Seeing that someone wanted to ride a yak to take pictures, the owner who was waiting next to him hurriedly untied the reins of the yak, helped my colleague to ride on the back of the cow, and let her open her arms. Another colleague hurriedly picked up his mobile phone, adjusted the angle, and took a few photos in a row.
I can't help but sigh, this is really a unique pure domain in the world. It is said that not only can you enjoy its beautiful scenery, but also its unique charm as one of the birthplaces of Naxi culture.
In the Naxi language, Baishuitai is called "Shi Buzhi", which means a flower that grows gradually. It is also known as the "Immortal Relic Field", and legend has it that it was the place where the ancestor of creation taught people to cultivate fields. It is also the birthplace of Dongba religion, in that year, the first holy ancestor of Dongba religion "Dong Ba Shiluo" came back from ** study scriptures, when passing through Baishuitai, because of its beautiful scenery, he resolutely stayed here to set up an altar to preach, and practiced here, so Baishuitai became the holy place of Dongba religion. Every year on the eighth day of the second lunar month, the local Naxi, Tibetan, Yi, Bai, Susu and other ethnic groups will go to Baishuitai to carry out sacrificial activities, entertain the gods and pray for the traditional songs and dances, and engrave the strong national customs into the hearts of every visitor who approaches it.
Perhaps, this is a hurried encounter, but the layers of Qiongtai jade steps of Baishuitai are like pieces of oblique moon scattered in the world, and the fairy weather of clouds and snow waves has long taken root in my heart and carved a fresh memory!
