Alfa Romeo recently announced that it will unveil a new small SUV Milano in April 2024, which is positioned below the midsize SUV Tonale and will share the platform with the same group's Jeep **Enger and Fiat 600, and the power option is estimated to be 1The 2-litre light petrol-electric variant, as well as the PHEV plug-in hybrid or even all-electric power, the all-electric version is expected to be available with a single motor or dual motor, with a maximum range estimated at 384 km, and the new car is expected to be launched in the European Continental in September 2024.
In the past, Alfa Romeo used the name Milano in the American specification of the Alfa Romeo 75 midsize sedan, and the original meaning of Milano is mainly to pay tribute to the brand's birthplace Milan, Italy, so the choice of this car name as an important masterpiece of the 113th anniversary of the birth of the Alfa Romeo brand is self-evident for Alfa Romeo.
And while the Milano is now confirmed to be a new compact SUV for the brand, positioned below the Tonale midsize SUV, the Milano is an important part of the brand's entry-level market, and it can be said that the Mito, a discontinued small hatchback, will take over the market position in some ways. Moreover, the Milano is based on the Stellantis Group's CMP ECMP platform, so it can be regarded as a twin model of the Jeep **Enger and Fiat 600 in terms of blood.
At present, the new car has not yet leaked a complete appearance, but from some of the product information and design drawings leaked by foreign media, it is speculated that Milano will use the traditional V-shaped radiator guard of the Alfa Romeo brand at the front of the car, and use a rather avant-garde L-shaped headlight cluster, which is connected with the ** V-shaped radiator guard, and the large air intake dam below is also sporty. On the side of the car, the C-pillar door handles that were common in Alfa Romeo's hatchbacks and sedans in the past will be used, and the overall texture of the side will be quite dynamic. The interior of the car is expected to be digitally displayed with digital instruments and floating screens.
Architecturally, because the group's latest Stla Small platform has not yet been used, but the CMP ECMP platform, from the current basis, Milano may adopt 1A 2-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged engine, paired with a mild hybrid petrol-electric system, will even have a 1A PHEV power combination with a 2-liter engine and an electric motor. It is worth mentioning that the Milano has also confirmed that there will be a pure electric version, which is expected to provide two powertrains: single-motor front-wheel drive and dual-motor four-wheel drive, of which the maximum horsepower of single-motor front-wheel drive is 154 horsepower, and the dual-motor four-wheel drive has not yet been revealed, and the WLTP range of the car series can reach up to 384 kilometers, which is comparable to the Jeep **Enger pure electric version.
