The report points out that under the current situation and development trend of China's population structure, it is necessary to build a training, use, evaluation and incentive mechanism for elderly care talents from the perspective of the national strategy of active aging and the high-quality development of the elderly care industry, so as to promote the career development of elderly care workers.

According to the results of the seventh national population census, there are 264.02 million elderly people aged 60 and above in China, accounting for 18 percent of the total population7%。It is expected that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, this number will exceed 300 million, and China will enter a moderately aging society. Population aging is an inevitable and important trend of social development, the demand for elderly care services is imminent, but according to statistics, China's professional caregivers who can meet the requirements of the new era have become one of the most scarce talents, the relationship between supply and demand is extremely unbalanced, and the training of elderly care talents is becoming more and more urgent.

In this context, this year's Caregiver Festival focuses on the career development of elderly care workers, and the core release of the "2023 Elderly Care Worker Career Status Survey and Research Report". Through in-depth research and analysis of the professionalization and professional development of elderly care workers, the report puts forward reference suggestions for further promoting the development of the elderly care team and improving the professional recognition and social identity of elderly care talents.
